Philips Avent ultra soft Pacifier 6-18m, day / night, SCF094/10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using the Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifiers in the Day & Night set with my newborn, and unfortunately he's not a fan, but I haven't given up! The problem ISN'T the pacis!!! The problem lies within the hospital he was born at giving him the green pacifier thinking they were helping when I was working on my breastfeeding with him, telling me that he was using me as a paci and that he wasn't getting enough milk. He then spit up my milk in front of them, proving them wrong. Ha. But I didn't have these pacis on me to give him instead and by the time we got home, he preferred the green one over these. Which is unfortunate because the green one keeps falling out of his mouth, making him fuss every other minute, while this paci stayed in his mouth much better. These pacis have a 98% acceptance, and I guess we're the unlucky 2%. But I haven't given up, I'm still trying to transition him. I love the handle on it, so he'll be able to grab the handle and soothe himself. The nipple on it prevents it from slipping out of his mouth like the green ones do. The colors and designs are simple and cute. They have colors for boys, girls, and neutrals too, and they glow in the dark so you're not fumbling around at night or turning on lights that wake your babies up when you're trying to find it. The shield is incredibly soft and flexible which is new to me! I've never seen one like this before! It contours gently to his cheeks without leaving any red marks which is huge for sensitive skin babies. They're lightweight, easy to clean with its included sterilizer case, and have an expensive look and feel to them. Definitely a high quality pacifier. Trust me guys, use these over the green ones they give you at the hospital. You'll thank me later. We were previously using avent soothies and I wasn't sure how my 8 month old would take to these but so far she seems to love them. The little handle is easy for her to grip onto and the shape sits comfortably on her face. She has recently gotten her two bottom teeth and I was a little worried she'd chew right through these but so far there are no signs of wear.Even though shes teething and has been a little more rash prone, she hasn't gotten any rashes from these pacifiers. The designs are cute and neutral, perfect for both boys and girls. I really like the glow in the dark pacifer thats much easier to find in a dark room when it gets dropped or tossed out of the crib. I was suprised that the glow in the dark feature actually glows for longer then I expected and I could still easily spot the pacifier in the middle of the night and early morning hours. The included case is very convenient for storing and carrying the pacifiers as well as sterilizing on the go. This is perfect for travel when you want to keep things clean but dont have all your regular tools handy. The markings inside are easy to see and the directions are straight forward. It even has a little pour spot to empty out the water afterward. The pacifiers are also easy to wash. The pacifiers are also clearly marked with the size and brand so if you have multiple sizes its easy to figure out which is which. I definitely see us purchasing more of these in the future when its time to replace.

She is very picky with her pacifiers so we were stuck with only one brand, after receiving these it was game over. She accepted them very easily and now they are her favorite ones. I love the soft flexible shield and butterfly design. I'm very wary with things she can put in her mouth so I love that they are BPA-Free, BPS-Free, Phthalate-Free and PVC-Free as well. Gives me ease as a mom that I am giving her something that is soft, comfortable, and safe. I can always trust Philips products. The color ways they come in are so cute too! We love the little animal designs, the hedgehog is our favorite. One thing I never knew I needed was a glow in the dark pacifier but it really helps finding in the bassinet when we're frantically trying to soothe our 5 month old. Highly recommend this product. Bonus points for including the sanitizing/carrying case.

Then, the Stellar Product Testing Panel provided us with the Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifier, Day/Night set. We went from spitting out pacifiers to reaching for and placing our own pacifier within 2 days! We have been using the 0-6m Philips Avent Ultra Soft Day/Night pacifiers for 2 weeks now and couldn't be happier. We went through every pacifier in the kit that was given to us, and none truly stuck. Our little one is 5 months old and breast/bottle fed and would constantly spit out or reject her pacifiers. Within 2 days of trying these pacifiers, we witnessed something awesome as she slept. She lost her pacifier during sleep and she woke up; looked and reached around; quickly found the glow-in-the-dark pacifier; grabbed it; placed it back into her mouth, and went back to sleep. No parental intervention needed! New parents know the relief that comes with not having to get out of bed repeatedly just to put a pacifier back in. It has been a game-changer. Speaking of the glow-in-the-dark feature: in addition to being just adorable, it is so great to be able to quickly find the pacifier by seeking the familiar glow and cute animals in the dark and not risk turning on the light/phone when doing late-night feeds. It's the small things that matter, and Phillips has thought of them all. We appreciate that this pacifier and case are made with 80% plant-based materials and are BPA-free. It just feels good knowing our child is a bit safer with this product. The soft, rounded shield lets us feel comfortable with our girl mouthing/chewing on the pacifier as she figures out how to get it back into her mouth or just plays with it—no risk of scratching herself with the soft edges. The easy-to-use carry and sterilization case ensures we keep the germs at bay at home and on the go (hotel, 7-11, anywhere there is a microwave). The ultra-soft nipple has made going from breast to pacifier smooth, and our baby seems to actually enjoy and be soothed by this pacifier. The only thing I would say is that if your child has fuller lips and is on the upper end of one of the age ranges, it may be worth it to size up. Our little girl's lips are already pushing just over the center (smallest part) of the butterfly-shaped shield, so we may move her to the 6-18-month size a bit early. But we will definitely be using Philips Avent Ultra Soft Day/Night pacifiers from now on.

No more searching in the middle of the night for the lost pacifiers! I loved the glow in the dark feature. Easy to find and not so glaringly bright that it kept my daughter awake. The designs were perfectly minimal. I like a solid colored pacifier and these neutral tones were super complimentary to her outfits when we were out and about. The nipple is flatter than some of the other types we have used which I prefer for orthodontic reasons. She did have a harder time initially taking to it but after a few tries she figured it out and loved it too. The soft shield also didn't leave any marks on my daughters skin when she napped which was a plus. I also loved the carrying case it came with so I can easily toss them in my bag without worrying they are touching everything else in my bag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 10 month old baby loves these pacifiers! He's never been huge into pacifiers in general, but he really seems to gravitate towards these. I like the soft, flexible shield as it's gentle on his skin. The colors are nice, but the designs weren't really my taste…couldn't really tell what they were - a bunch of grapes and maybe a deer? But my baby likes looking at them haha. I like that there is a day and a glow in the dark night option. The sterilizer case is also nice!! We've been going through some sleep transitions with our 5 month old (eliminating swaddle, moving to crib, daylight savings) and trying this pacifier has made our lives much easier during this time. First, the pacifier is softer than others we have, which our baby prefers for sucking. He ends up using hard rubber pacifiers as teethers, which serves a purpose but does not help for bedtime and nap times! Second, I find this shape and design helps our baby as he is learning how to self soothe. The glow-in-the-dark feature is a game changer for helping him find the pacifier at night. The harder shield on this pacifier makes it easier for our baby to find the nipple side and put in his mouth. He doesn't seem interested in teething on the plastic, so he just finds the nipple and starts sucking. As a result, we have had much more success in self soothing using these Philips pacifiers. Third, the pacifier also comes with a small sterilization case so you can easily clean them with water and a microwave. I threw one in my diaper bag so when I'm visiting family / out of the house I can have clean pacifiers in minutes. One thing I wish was better: water can get stuck in the nipple when you're washing these, and it's sometimes hard to get out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifier Day/Night with 3 month old, and we already loved Philips Avent pacifiers before this. My baby already had her own Philips Avent pacifier, but it didn't have the glow-in-the-dark feature, so I was excited to try this version. My baby took to it right away since she was already used to the shape. The shield is really soft and flexible, and I like that it doesn't leave red marks on her cheeks. It feels really gentle on her skin. I also loved the colors and simple designs. They're cute without being too much. The glow-in-the-dark button on the nighttime one is honestly so helpful because it makes it way easier to find the pacifier in the crib during the middle of the night without turning on the lights. I personally do not use the sterilizer, soI don't have any comments on that. Overall, it feels like a great upgrade from the Philips Avent pacifiers we already had, and my baby seems really comfortable with it. Definitely something I'd recommend to other parents. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My baby is 9 months old and seems to enjoy chewing on these, and grabs for them if they are placed in front of him! He has a few teeth and is definitely more of a chewer than a paci sucker. They've withstood his constant chewing thus far! I like the colors - I have the blue and the yellow pacis. I love the idea of the daytime (normal) and nighttime (glow in the dark) options. I use the nighttime ones right before bed and my baby plays with them before settling down. They last until he falls to sleep, which is good. The nipple and shield are soft and strong, and my baby seems to like the feel. My only concern is about the multi-piece aspect of it. I do always worry when a paci comes with parts that may come off, no matter how well made. My baby is a strong chewer and yanks things, so I definitely only let him have this while supervised and not overnight. I received these pacifier sets from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I was excited to try them because the material feels so gentle, but my babies wanted nothing to do with that texture—the moment I popped one in, they'd immediately work it right back out of their mouths with their tongues, looking annoyed. It was a stark contrast to the original Philips Avent pacifiers, which they take without a fuss and actually keep in. If your baby is used to the standard shape and firmer feel, this "ultra soft" version might just end up on the floor rather than soothing them.
