Love the clarity of the color on the movies. It also make regular DVD movies look better than before. I like the slim cabinet making it easier to fit it into smaller spaces.
Purchased two of these Philips players for two different rooms and both have performed well. Bought to get HDR and Dolby Vision playback as well as Atmos audio. Haven't had any issues playing any disc to this point. Well, I did have a problem with one disc but it turned out it was my fault - lots of fingerprints on the disc. Once cleaned it played flawlessly. One recommendation for improvement - please make the eject button on the remote easier to find. Poorly located and button too small.
Quick delivery, easy setup and it works just great! Would recommend to all.
this player still has a actual power cord decent size remote and some weight now to the good stuff dvd upscaling very good you would think you're watching a blu-ray blu-ray very top notch playback which this player excells at 4k outstanding on uhd tv audio from dd 5.1 to dts hd all excellent you would think your system had a upgrade bad news only netflix and you tube which is redundant cause every tv has a slew of streaming options this player you are paying for no frills audio and video performance
The set up menu could use some work as I find it to be unintuitive. I use both HDMI ports. One to TV one to receiver. Tv displays that 4k hdr is working as expected. I have experience some issues with the audio being out of sync. I am able to cycle HDMI on receiver and this puts it back in sync. I can't say if player or reciever is issue. Player runs quiet and looks well built. Still waiting on DV support. Only have a couple of discs with DV but would like to use this feature.
I purchased this Philips 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player because I had some specific requirements: 1) A lightweight player with minimal depth; 2) Capable of Dolby Vision, and; 3) low-cost. Of the budget players I researched, this was the only one that was capable of Dolby Vision and met my other requirements. In terms of value (bang for the buck), the player is very good. The picture quality from the player is great and most of the functionality you'd expect is there. The load time is a bit slow, but the drive is relatively quiet both during loading and playing. The BDP 7502 is lacking a bit in bells and whistles, but that's to be expected in a budget player. The options for video, audio, network, and general control are adequate but don't have the same degree of versatility as more expensive players. The very basic information shown when pressing the Info key is really too basic to be useful. I haven't tested the Dolby Vision feature yet since I have the player connected to a Sony UHD TV, and those with Sony's X1 Extreme Processor chip still haven't had the firmware update to enable Dolby Vision. I've had only a few problems worth mentioning: 1) When Fast Forwarding or using Next/Prev Chapter, the player sometimes hangs up and/or drops the optical connection to my Polk soundbar, and ; 2) If I don't have a USB stick in the player when it starts, it usually hangs up. All in all, not a bad player for the price, with basic controls and very good image quality. But if you're looking for more control and features you might be disappointed with the BDP 7502.
Solid 4k player. Just disappointing, been waiting almost a year for the Dolby Vision update. Picked this particular player because it was supposedly "Dolby Vision Ready". It was supposed to be in 2017, now stated as first quarter of 2018, yet still no update...
Purchased before Dolby Vision firmware was available, thank goodness it was finally released. Looks really basic, but does everything I need, now that Dolby Vision is supported. No problems in almost 2 years of playing DVD, Blu-ray and UHD disks.
The first year I had this blue ray player it worked great, it plays 4k disks with no problem, but with DVDs and regular Blu Ray disks I will sometimes have to eject and try to reload the disk up to 20+ times in order for it to play. It will tell me the disk is unsupported, but eventually play it, so it is clearly supported...
This is the second phillips product I have bought. The fetty First was a phillips hi-def blu ray player and it had the same problem that this one does. So I now know that it's just the maker period. I paid $99.97 +tax for the first one it was a hi def and this one cost me $149.99 and I have to be honest i feel very let down and iterated. And now out $250 . Would not buy Phillips Ever again! Only gave it one star because delivery was prompt . Even among the Covid-19
