As with other Hue lighting products the lighting and color profile was spot on. Colors are bright and vibrant. Hue app is simple to use and has many features. As advertised installation for this into existing ceiling cans was extremely easy. Literally took 5 minutes to do. Integration into the Hue app was fast and easy. I have used other smart lighting products and much prefer the Phillips Hue devices To me the extra cost is worth it.
Not inexpensive but worth every penny. These and all Hue lights work great. Every time. Unlike the cheap brands.
If you have can lights that have an E26 bulb in them, these are amazing. I was able to swap out 6 can lights with these in about 10 minutes. I had some others that had CFL bulbs that I had to climb up in the attic to bypass the ballast. This was a lot more work, but the end result is all that really matters.
The lights were great and would have loved to use them but the function didn't work with a dimmer switch and I hadn't realized that before purchasing otherwise amazing in every other way!
Phillips delivers on quality, ease of use, and durability
The hue light fits into my existing can fixture and allows control of the color and intensity of the led from my phone. Works quickly and we enjoy having them.
Hue in general is great and I understand that the retrofit system for the tension is meant to be easy to remove by twisting, but in my case the can lights were installed poorly and not flush with the ceiling so these couldn't be installed. If it were torsion springs it would have worked. This feels like the choice they should have made to be more universal.
The light is great and suits my needs almost perfectly. The larger system has a flaw for people with more than 50 devices though (which is VERY easy to get to). One hub can only handle 50 devices. Adding hubs is easy. However, you can only operate the devices on 1 hub remotely per account!!! I have 3 hubs with 100 bulbs, sensors, etc. So, I only have access to 1/3 of them when I'm away from home...baring the creation of 3 different accounts with different emails, passwords, etc. (Note: You can access all three while in network at home, just not remotely.) Only being 'smart' when I'm around is not a good measure of smart.
Purchasing directly from Philips Hue is a terrible experience. The ordering system directly is fine, however after that it drops off into a black hole. It takes days or weeks to receive products with very poor communication, there is no way to modify or cancel orders after they are placed (even within one hour of placing the order, long before shipping happens!) and the support process is AWFUL. I've purchased several times directly from Philips and will NEVER do so again. Love the product, WORST sales and support services.
I purchased these because I have several dozen Philips hue products throughout my house, and have used them for about 8 years at this point without a single issue. This is the first time I've been disappointed by a Philips hue product. Simply put, the lights do not turn off. They still glow slightly no matter what. I've reached out to customer service and we are working it out and finding a way to resolve this. Out of the 11 I purchased, only 2 worked perfectly. That success rate is completely unacceptable, and I would wait for Philips hue to confirm they have resolved these issues before purchasing this product.
