Philips Hue 5/6” LED Recessed Lighting Housing

I'm so glad I did this. It changes everything from my live stream to enhancing certain colors in my room when I need them to be enhanced. And one of the most understated features of the Hugh Light bulbs in general is that you can time when they come on and when they go off, and what color you want when they do, you can even change it midway installation was crazy easy. You simply screw in a light bulb. Only in this case, the light bulb is the entire flat part of the recessed lighting hope to cover a lot more of my ceiling lights with these lights soon

These are modern day lights. They have really added a lot of character to my living space. It's great how we can change the colour and individually too. Great product

Not inexpensive but worth every penny. These and all Hue lights work great. Every time. Unlike the cheap brands.

Easy to install and setup with the Hue Bridge, previously tried buying from Amazon and Best Buy but either got my order canceled or sent the 5/6 inch version instead. They were a little stubborn connecting to hue bridge but turning them on and off again made them eventually appear in the app.

If you have can lights that have an E26 bulb in them, these are amazing. I was able to swap out 6 can lights with these in about 10 minutes. I had some others that had CFL bulbs that I had to climb up in the attic to bypass the ballast. This was a lot more work, but the end result is all that really matters.

Interesting and a conversation piece but difficult to set up, automate and coordinate

The light is great and suits my needs almost perfectly. The larger system has a flaw for people with more than 50 devices though (which is VERY easy to get to). One hub can only handle 50 devices. Adding hubs is easy. However, you can only operate the devices on 1 hub remotely per account!!! I have 3 hubs with 100 bulbs, sensors, etc. So, I only have access to 1/3 of them when I'm away from home...baring the creation of 3 different accounts with different emails, passwords, etc. (Note: You can access all three while in network at home, just not remotely.) Only being 'smart' when I'm around is not a good measure of smart.

Hue in general is great and I understand that the retrofit system for the tension is meant to be easy to remove by twisting, but in my case the can lights were installed poorly and not flush with the ceiling so these couldn't be installed. If it were torsion springs it would have worked. This feels like the choice they should have made to be more universal.

I used these in my remodel, and have only gotten one of the light fixtures to connect to the bridge. They're very tough to get down to check the serial number; I'm going to have to hire the builder to do that and go through all the lights and hopefully get the to connect. The one that connected easily works like a charm, as do the lamp light bulbs.

I purchased these because I have several dozen Philips hue products throughout my house, and have used them for about 8 years at this point without a single issue. This is the first time I've been disappointed by a Philips hue product. Simply put, the lights do not turn off. They still glow slightly no matter what. I've reached out to customer service and we are working it out and finding a way to resolve this. Out of the 11 I purchased, only 2 worked perfectly. That success rate is completely unacceptable, and I would wait for Philips hue to confirm they have resolved these issues before purchasing this product.
