We had Geeni lightbulbs before this, that work without a Hub. We thought it would be better to have bulbs that directly connected to our Wi-Fi router, but then we had to go through the process of individually connecting the Geeni lightbulbs after every power outage and decided it was time for a change. With this hub system, the hub and lightbulbs stay connected to the network even after a power outage. There are also a lot more automated features with this system. so we'd recommend these over Geeni if you're looking to connect more than 2 smart lightbulbs to your network.

This kit is a great way to dive into the Philips Hue ecosystem thanks to the included Bridge. The bulbs have a fixed 2700K warm color temperature, but like most Philips Hue bulbs, they're highly reliable and work seamlessly with other smart home systems beyond the Hue app. Setup was simple, just plug in the bridge near the router, use the Hue app to scan the bulb codes, and everything was ready in about 10 minutes. The lights respond instantly to commands from the app or Apple Home and don't suffer from the signal drops common with WiFi connected bulbs.

Easy set up. Bulbs are bright. Have been a hue customer for years, but my bridge went out and needed replaced.

I had an older version and the hub stooped working after 9 years. love the convenience.

It's great! So much better than one of those plug in timers. You can control and dim lights from anywhere! So easy to use.

It was very easy to set up to Apple HomeKit, and it works great. I look forward to adding other lights to this system. The Hue app has many options for lighting scenarios that you can send to your iPhone as widgets.

I got the opportunity to get a great deal on one of their starter kits. Well worth the price. They don't have color but it's for a kitchen application…don't need colors in the kitchen. And it included the bridge which significantly dropped the cost of that. Since the bridge can be a bit pricey by itself, it can cause people to go to a product that doesn't require a bridge. But once you have the bridge, you have it and now can add anything you want from the Philips Hue line of products including lights, dimmers and switches, motion detectors and more. You can connect up to 50 items on one bridge. The 1600 lumen and 1100 lumen line of lights are great too. I have a 1600 lumen white only in my bathroom and it illuminates everything.

Great bulbs but setting up the bridge took about four tries. If you're using the 5Ghz band of your WiFi, switch to 2.4Ghz for set up to work. Not a great UI on the app for light settings. Bulbs and other compatible devices are great quality and highly recommend. Integrated with Apple HomeKit which is fine.

Easy to setup and install but having troubles connecting it to remote access. Online docs not much help. Will have to contact customer support. Oh joy…

The shipping was great, however the product was missing the power adapter. I will return it and try to order another one. Hopefully the new one will include the power adapter so that I can truly test the product.
