Precision, quality trim without a mess to clean up

Dragonwing February 21, 2016

For wives of men with beards of goatees, this is the best beard trimmer in the world because of the built in vacuum system! It really works like it says it does, and it does capture the majority of the hair that is cut! No more cleaning beard hair out of the sink! In my opinion, it really does hold up to its claim that it captures 90% of the hair. Now, if you were trimming a large amount of a beard off or an extremely thick beard, it would not realistically be able to hold up this claim, but for the every other day or once a week trim, yes, it really does keep the mess contained which for me gives this beard trimmer 5 stars right there – no mess! While my husband said it did take him more than just shaking the trim catcher over the garbage to empty it, but it was still worth the few extra minutes than dealing with a clogged sink. My husband did like how easy it was to change the trim settings and get the desired trim height with the zoom wheel. The settings vary from 0.5 mm to 10 mm in 0.5 mm increments with the proper guard. Another thing my husband liked about this beard trimmer is that you can use the trimmer while it is plugged in and being charged so in case you forget to charge it, you can still shave and charge it. The beard combs – my husband wasn't sure of how sturdy they were and how long they would last, but that was the only thing about this trimmer that he did not feel was durable and quality made.

Beard trimmer

Sim07 February 2, 2016

The Philips Norelco Beard trimmer Series 7200 BT7215/49 has been wonderful for my husband! He has a medium length beard, and he loves this trimmer. It has been a constant battle with his prior trimmer with him leaving trimmings behind after he shaves. With this razor, I definitely have seen a massive improvement! Though the trimmer doesn't catch all of the hair, I would certainly say it catches the majority. He simply empties out the container of hair into the trash after he shaves and it's as simple as that! My husband also has complimented how quiet the trimmer is, and I would have to agree with that as well. He can be shaving in the bathroom and I will be in the next room and not even know what he is doing, unlike his past beard trimmer. He also likes how close the shave is, and how delicate it is. He certainly has found the beard trimmer for him, he would recommend it and as his wife I would also recommend it for the sake of a cleaner bathroom with no stray beard trimmings, or a noisy buzz while he is shaving. It's a win win for our household!

Finally, Norelco got it right this time!

Anonymous February 12, 2016

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this beard trimmer came with a smaller and separate detachable detail blade for styling and detailing my beard. Finally, Norelco got it right this time! I have used several shavers in the past and the 'pop-up' trimmers on all of those units did a poor job in reaching and styling hard to reach areas that also requires good maneuverability. This beard trimmer did an excellent job in cutting my thick hair evenly {using the blade guards}, and did not pull or nick my skin: On the contrary, it provided a smooth and comfortable shave that even rivals my more expensive Norelco shaver. I also love how you're able to easily adjust the closeness of how you want to trim your hair by turning the 'zoom wheel' that's built into this trimmer. However, it didn't give a very 'close cut' shave and for that reason I will not be totally replacing my regular shaver anytime soon. This is really not a big issue anyway, but I thought I would mention it anyway for those who might be wondering if this beard trimmer can be used as a *stand-alone* unit. The manufacturer claims that the beard trimmer's vacuum feature will capture 90% of the cut hair, and in my experience I found this to be accurate. However, this didn't ring true using the smaller detail blade -- which is understandable given how it's designed. It protrudes outward from the unit and allows you to have greater handling. Also, although this beard trimmer isn't completely waterproof, you can simply remove the attachments and clean them under running water. In my opinion, this beard trimmer is the perfect complement to any existing facial hair shaver system and I recommend it.

Great beard trimmer - Philips Norelco Series 7200

Reenie52 February 4, 2016

This Philips Norelco beard trimmer series 7200 is the next generation in beard trimmers and shavers. The first noticeable difference between this and the trimmers of long ago, is the design. This beard trimmer is sleek and modern looking. It fits in your hand very nicely. It is lightweight and has an outside texture that is easy to grip. There are two different size blades that will fit those large and small spots on your face. There are also three different size guides to fit the blade heads for that perfect groom. These interchangeable blades and guides are easy to switch out. One of the great features on this beard trimmer is that it has a vacuum system. As you're shaving, the powerful suction catches the hair that would normally be left in the sink. Yuck! This shaver is rechargeable. It will fully charge in one hour and will run for approximately 80 minutes on a charge. It can also be used while plugged in. This beard trimmer was designed to keep that stubble look all the same length without cutting it too short or leaving long pieces behind. The included guides and trimming heads will accommodate all different beard lengths for that perfect trim. This trimmer also comes with a really nice cloth bag for traveling. Philips Norelco products are known for their quality and long life and there is also a 5 year warranty offer on this shaver. I did not personally use this shaver but gave it to a family member and viewed and documented the entire beard trimming process. It was easy, worked really well and cleaned up great!

Nice trimmer, but not suction

MAC92 March 10, 2016

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer is a nice little trimmer. Both my husband and my son have used this trimmer and both say it does a great job trimming. The suction on the other hand, not so good. Philips Norelco states that the suction/vacuum catches up to 90% of cut hair for less mess. I would say that it is more like 75%. Yes, there is less hair to clean up, but you still have to clean it up. So do not get this for the vacuum aspect, get it for the trimming potential. This trimmer comes with a wall charger, a beard comb, precision trimmer, two additional combs of varied depths, a cleaning brush, and a material pouch to stow all the accessories. The trimmer blade is self sharpening and does a good job of trimming on the first pass. It has an incredible "zoom wheel" that lets you adjust the trim length with the swipe of your thumb. It has the ability to trim from .05 - 10mm. There is also a click on precision trimmer for cleaning up and clean edges. You can use this trimmer with the cord or as a cordless. With only about an hour charge, you get almost an hour and a half trimming time. Clean up is a breeze. Just empty the hair chamber, rinse the blade, and then of course, wipe down the sink area. :) The trimmer is nice and light weight. It fits very nicely in the hand and is easy to use. I ordered this trimmer for my son, but my husband likes it so well that he "steals it" from him. :). This is definitely a good purchase; well worth the money. It comes with a 5 year warranty plus whatever Walmart offers if you spend a couple of bucks. I can see this will get a lot of use in our household. I would definitely recommend this trimmer, just not the vacuum.

Beard trimming 5 star! Ease of cleaning - 4 star..

WalmartShopperCP February 1, 2016

Even before this, I have used Philips Norelco beard trimmers for my needs and they have always exceeded my expectation and as far as beard trimming is concerned, this one is no exception. This 7200 series trimmer looks really cool and it is definitely a high quality product. I opened the packaging, read the manual and plugged the device for charging as instructed. Though it says it takes an hour to fully charge, it was much quicker. First I used the cutting element with beard comb since that is what I will use most often. The coolest thing I found about this device is the zoom wheel; it makes it very easy to adjust the trimming length. Current length is digitally displayed as you turn the wheel. With desired settings, I trimmed my beard, it turned out perfect. I like the power of the machine, it was very quick and wasn't noisy either. Installing and removing comb and cutting element are very easy too. My biggest dislike about it was the “cleaning”, before reading the manual I thought the built-in vacuum system would make it very easy, but not so much. The hair collecting chamber was not easy to completely clean using the cleaning brush, especially removing the smallest hair from the chamber. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so I re-read the manual but it turned out that I was following the process correctly. I felt like whatever time I gained with quick trimming was lost to cleaning. Having said all these, I will honestly say that the beard turned out so perfect that if I have to measure only beard trimming, this is the best trimmer I have used so far. Other attachments include precision trimmer with two detail combs and a travel pouch. Also, you can use this device corded or cordless. Overall, five stars for beard trimming and four star including ease of cleaning.

Handy Trimmer!

imrachie February 5, 2016

My son likes this, Philips Norelco Beard trimmer Series 7200 BT7215/49. He likes that it has the little vacuum built into it that catches most of his whiskers although not all of them, instead of him having to clean so much hair up from the sink and floor after trimming his beard and or head. The trimmer has 4 different attachments and a nice little soft travel bag it fits in. With the trimmer having 20 different length settings you are surely able to get what ever style and length you want. It's quite easy to adjust the lengths by simply turning the dial with your thumb. He likes the fact that it charges so quickly(about and hour) and also that after fully charging it the trimmer will run for almost an hour and a half. He liked also that he was able to get a close shave on his head as well as the many lengths. It fits comfortably in your hand and is not heavy enough to make you hand/arm tired while grooming yourself. This trimmer trims nice straight lines as well as makes your beard/ mustache etc. feel comfortable and no pulling as you glide it over whatever you are grooming. The trimmer is easy to clean and that includes washing the blades as well as emptying the vacuumed hair from the trimmer. It's super that the blades are self sharpening and they are stainless steel so we needn't worry about the blades getting rusty. We hope to have a long service life from this well built Trimmer!

A lot less mess!

SuperAmmi February 13, 2016

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7200 is a different kind of trimmer. The most interesting thing to me was its vacuum capability. When turned on, you can feel the cool air suction while using the trimmer. The trimmer is said to contain most of the hair when used and I believe it truly does capture almost all of the hair. The suction is powerful enough to lift hair and provide a more efficient cut. You do not feel it pulling hair, though. It is just the right lift for a clean cut. It is easy to empty out the hair collection chamber, also. I was assuming that since it had a vacuum capability, it might be louder than most trimmers. Surprisingly, it is very quiet, probably more quiet than most electric trimmers. The feel of the grip on the center of the trimmer is good. It is soft and smooth yet it is not slippery. The zoom wheel in the center of the handle is used when you have the comb on the trimmer. It is easy to see what length you have selected on the wheel because the setting lights up. You can select lengths from 0.5 mm to 10mm using the zoom wheel. There is a helpful battery indicator light on the handle that blinks white while charging and lights up solid white after you have fully charged the battery and it will blink orange when the battery is getting low and needs to be recharged. This trimmer is not waterproof and cannot be immersed in water or rinsed under the faucet. A useful brush has been included to keep it neat and clean, though. Overall, it is a nice beard trimmer and I think the best feature is the vacuum suction so it is a lot less messy for my son to use and clean up after.

Norelco Beard Trimmer is Time Consuming

PatinTrinity February 12, 2016

Husband had a difficult time trying to assemble cutting element. It was hard to line up the plastic clips on each side. Feels they would break easily with pressure, trying to line them up. Detail Comb L (3/16 in ./5mm), same problem, trying to line up plastic edges. Same problem with smaller Detail Comb M ( 1/8in./3mm). However, the smaller Detail Comb has a gap between the cutter & vacuum container so it wouldn't collect hair & it fell outside the container. It can only fit on the unit one way. Husband feels metal clips would be stronger, less chance of breakage, especially over time. It does handle nicely and the adjustment level zoom wheel lights up to determine length to cut his beard. Good visual to see the amount of beard hair collecting in the vacuum system container. He likes the power on & off button. He trims his beard, mustache & sideburns about every two to three days. Precision Trimmer does a good job taking off the amount of beard hair he sets the dial to. He keeps his beard trimmed neatly & has a short, straight mustache. (See picture). It cut his beard smoothly & evenly. The vacuum container collected the hair along his beard but would not when using smaller Detail Comb on his mustache. He makes sure his skin and beard are dry. He combs his beard & mustache with a fine comb before trimming, using smooth & gentle movements, especially the first time, when learning how to use the beard trimmer. It was not easy cleaning the vacuum container because he feels the container is plastic. It caused so much static electricity that all the hair stuck to it, even though he was using the brush to try & get it out. He didn't know where to dump the hair he was cleaning out the container. He felt he would either have to lean over a garbage can, sink or toilet to empty it. He chose to keep a plastic grocery bag handy on the bathroom counter. The main reason I chose this Norelco was because it said it had a vacuum container & beard hairs would not have to collect in sink & end up plugging sink. My husband feels the Norelco Beard Trimmer has good and bad points. He likes the way the Zoom Wheel lights up when he sets the trimming to the length he wants. He likes the way it trims his beard & mustache. The cordless beard trimmer feels comfortable to hold. The battery charger works fine. He does not like the plastic clips on the element or detail combs & finds it irritating to try and clean the vacuum container. That is why he gives this an "average" rating I am a Walmart Spark Reviewer and chose this item to give to my husband to try. He will continue using for awhile longer to give it a good trial, but wanted to be honest about what he liked and disliked about the product. He feels his standard cordless shaver works easier. He would have liked the Philips Norelco better if there was an easier way to get the hair out with all the static cling and if the plastic side clips on the Detail Combs were stronger.

Great vacuum trimmer until it breaks

Whynotrealname November 1, 2021

Excellent 5 star vacuum tried if the clip that holds blade in place didn't easily break. I have probably replaced 5 of these over 5 years as the clip doesn't last more than an year but then it could be planned obsolescence, how would Philips have sold 5 if the clip didn't conveniently break on me every year.
