Nice unit.

Jim Anderson May 2, 2017

They were selling this unit for about $55 dollars , and they had the other unit , which was exactly the same except it was red and black, and that one was going for about 80 dollars, so I was worried that this one was different then the other one in some ways... Received it, and it has the identical features, except for the color.... I wasn't sure if the Laser part of it, was in this one, as it didn't talk about that in the description, but sure enough, this one also has that capability. I don't use the Laser part of it, as I don't really see the benefit, but it is there in case you wanted to try it out.It seems to hold a charge for days and days, as I have used it about 5 times so far , and it is still showing a full charge, so I am very impressed with that. Its easy to clean , and works well.. I don't know how well it would work for anyone with a large beard, but for my small tapered beard, it works perfectly, keeping the same length all the time, once you find the setting you like.I accidentally used the hair comb on my beard, thinking it was the beard comb, but only took about a second before I realized I had the wrong attachment on . Installed the correct attachment, and its been all good. The attachments go off and on very easily, but just be careful removing them, as you could probably break off the tabs of the attachment easily if you don't take them off correctly. All in all, very satisfied.

I was not happy when my wife bought this for me

SthrnTami August 31, 2017

I was not happy when my wife bought this for me.I hate electric shavers. However, this one may get me to change my mind.I just started to grow a beard and needed to keep it neat. The adjustable blades and guards are easy to use and I have done a pretty good job so far.The fact that after using this, I did not end up in the hospital gives it five stars.

like my old one

Terry Frederick August 30, 2017

Really a quality item.I did learn the hard way that the plastic shield over the cutter bar does not operate as a comb or fence, like my old one.Went to shorten one side of the goatee and went down to the skin.Shaved it all off, starting again.Lesson learned.

I can't shave with a razor blade often because it causes bad razor burn

Jason Olinghouse May 10, 2017

This is a review for using a shaver as a razor. I can't shave with a razor blade often because it causes bad razor burn. I just use trimmers to get as close as possible. These work great. They don't grab or pull and the small side is great for cleaning up the ears. Not much use for the lazer myself, it does place the line about 1/16th of an inch above where the blades cut. I'm sure that is fine.

very good and perfect beard-trimmer for low cut

GODofBAD May 19, 2017

It is amazing, Perfect trim and fast cut.it make the hire soften (think because it trim the hire and not snip it)the lazier is a gimmickbut nice additive.

Plato May 20, 2017

these are great. Only thing I wish they would cut a little closer to the skin. they only shave down to a .4, other than that these are nice, powerful, and easy to clean. I use the laser a few times, and it comes in handy.

Not as easy to use as my older Norelco..

BradB May 6, 2017

The design of this model makes it difficult to use if you have an angular face (like I do). With the beard trimmer attachment in place, you have to hold it perpendicular to the beard to get an even cut - and even then it "gouges" in some places.I've gotten used to it, learned how to "manipulate it" and it works fine - but why, oh why, did they discontinue the earlier model which had an angled head that simply followed the contour of your face/beard (??).This is one case where making it more high-tech did not make it better.I will continue to use it - but would not buy another.

Either the blades just aren't that great or the motor doesn't run fast enough

Robert S Brennan Jr May 24, 2017

Awful product for a variety of reasons, the primary ones being:1) I completely charged it out of the box and then after use kept using it until the battery was out--as you're supposed to do per the instructions and any lithium ion battery in general. Following my next attempt to recharge the trimmer for cordless use, the battery was zapped instantly once removed from the charger and attempting to use it. Aggravating as it was, I simply started using it while plugged in to avoid the instant battery death when unplugged;2) If you have any thickness to your beard, it's going to take a looooong time with this trimmer to get a consistent trim. Either the blades just aren't that great or the motor doesn't run fast enough, either way it's a lengthy process--particularly compared to the Wahl trimmer I had previously that this replaced; and3) Despite having to plug it in to use and it taking eons to trim, yesterday it decided that it just wasn't going to trim if I wanted to go on a down slope (think from cheek to chin). It would just cut out and die. Plugged in? Check. Blades clean and clear from any obstruction or hair? Check. Does it work? Nope.I owned this trimmer for barely a month and yesterday was it's swansong. Save your money and find something more reliable. The laser guidance obviously never factored in since the battery could barely operate the blades much less the gimmick I talked myself into buying.

You really get clipped

Paul M. Metzger May 2, 2017

Thank goodness for 45 day return, first experience the trimmer cut height is flaky re-grow and had girl friend try it on me and ended up cutting the beard off.It goes back.

these are the worst clippers/trimmer I've ever owned

Charles D. Donah June 21, 2017

For the price, these are the worst clippers/trimmer I've ever owned. The laser guide is pointless and the blades are dull. I get a more effective trim with my Gillette fusion trimmer. Not remotely worth the $85 price tag
