Water filter
Very easy to replace. My coffee maker gave me a 10% Heads Up! when I needed to replace my water filter.

Coffee should taste like the rich brew it can be!
Gets rid of lots of impurities and with mineral rich Texas water, it can really alter a great cup of coffee's flavor. F you like coffee to taste like coffee, this is a great filter!

Good filter
The Philips filter works good. I hadn't replaced the filter as the machine indicated for a while since I thought it didn't make any difference about the taste, however the coffee did taste better after I decaled the machine and added the filter.

Great service
My Phillips coffee machine is amazing and it is because of this water filter that was so easy to order and replace.

makes frequent descaling unnecessary
I love the fact that descaling isn't necessary very often. I don't like the fact that this filter needs to be replaced about every 3 weeks. That's quite expensive.

O-ring too thin
Unfortunately the o-ring gasket on the neck of the filter is not thick enough to allow the filter to stay in place. Instead it floats out and is not filtering the water.

Cause of all the problems of my philips 5400
Poorly designed. I use these for my philips 5400 coffee maker, the machine is fabulous but these filters cause regular issues with it. Somehow it seems to get air into it or something and the coffee maker struggles with flow. I take out the filter give it a good shake and submerge it for a couple mins and boom, good to go for another week or so. I even keep the water reservoir filled to keep the filter submerged. Ugh so annoying, is there a better alternative that is compatible? I hate these things
