I think I've only ever written one or two other reviews ever. I'm writing this now as I was showing a friend where to purchase this headset and decided to leave a review. There are the best headphones on a budget price. Great, comfortable build quality and the sound is crisp and accurate. I've had these for a year now and still love to put them on every day.As someone who produces music, these are amazing.
These headphones have outstanding balance, to the point where even when composing with around 10+ different instruments it is still easy to distinguish individual sounds. The bass is perfect for classical composition, being present but not overpowering. That may be a turn-off for some though.
These headphones are so crisp. they have very high resolution. they are a great way to dip your toes into the audiophile space without spending much. They also make an amazing gaming headset when paired with an in-line boom mic
Nothing can beat these for long duration audio sessions of anything. I'm not a sound aficionado so I can't say how "objectively" good of a sound quality these have - they sound fine to me - but it's definitely #1 in comfort.
These are some seriously impressive headphones. One thing to note; if you are a hip-hop lover such as myself you will need to use a custom eq to add some bass as these are lacking, but definitely capable of pulling off. Build quality is rather plasticy but that is expected at this price point. These sound better than my Sony XM3's!
Alright, so i just want to clarify that the bass in these are there, they just need to be tuned up a little. Honestly for sound seperation alone I would buy this mic. Whether I was producing music, playing rainbow six siege, or just casually listening, these performed better then any other headphones ive used in this price range, and these are imo good enough for production and mixing since the mids and highs are just tremendously clear.
Pop music is ok. Bass is ok, mids are ok, treble is low, not clear. If you like mids and a subtle bass this are ok. Not if you love treble and brass. Guitars sound loud and clear. Perfect if you love acoustic guitars.
Used the device for four months or so with a normal 3.5mm cell phone jack along with my desktop, then I switched to an iPhone and the adapter which seems to have caused issues as my headphones declined to work properly anymore. They exhibited strange behaviour, the volume would gradually fade over the course of five minutes before going mute while listening, this was replicated with eight different devices and five different cables which were validated working with other audio setups. The headphones are very nice (slightly bump the bass in your eq on your phone and computer to maximise your listening enjoyment as they come with very lazy bass out of the box) with confidence inspiring build quality with rather loose clamping force and the fabric earpads are great. If I was not scared that another pair would die if I tried them again I would be writing a much more positive review, I will probably be looking at either a first party set of bluetooth earbuds or some third party anc bluetooth headphones.
With all the good reviews my hopes were high, sadly they fell well short for me.First the good:Build quality is decent, while mostly plastic there is no creakinessI like the covers of the earpads as they are very breathable and keep the temps downThey are very big but the light weight makes them quite comfortableNow for the badMy biggest gripe is that these sound so lifeless compared to the very cheap and creaky Shure SRH240's they were supposed to replace. For movies and videos the 9600's are great, they have a warm sound that is not piercing or fatiguing, but when things get busy there is no real separation. This is of course personal taste but for me these sound as if you are listening to music under water, they are very muddled. The most pronounced sound is bass rumble which drowns out vocals and highs, both are too distant for my liking. They are also very inconsistent with power requirements, some times they can get very low and cranking up the volume only serves to expose white noise in the background. In Conclusion,These will be a good option for listening to videos, movies or callsThey are not good for music as you lose too much detail which is the opposite of how an open headphone should sound. You will need an amp to avoid any volume issues
This headset plays a buzzing noise from the moment it's plugged in, regardless of whether or not the computer is actually playing any sounds.Checked on multiple systems (multiple desktops, multiple laptops on battery power), checked for a firmware update (no, on the latest/current version), checked for updated drivers (no, on the latest/current version).
