We are or should I say were great fans of the Air fryer. The food is delicious and it functions without any problems. We were gifted this product, but within 2 days discovered that the product does not meet the quality we were promised. The removable metal tray has a funny piece of metal hanging to it at the back, as a result of which the base is full of scratches. Our air fryer looks like used, even though we have hardly used it. and we are going to Croma tomorrow to return it. I think the earlier model was better. Do buy the other one and not this one.
Love my air fryer. I have used it almost everyday. So easy to clean up. No greasy pans or stove top. Just the right size for 2 of us. Fits a whole chicken.I usually have to cook a little longer than the recipes call for. It smoked the first time I used it, but not since then.
I have not yet used my air fryer! When I purchased it I assumed I would receive some of the required accessories. I did not. I have tried to go online to purchase, but my model just has a 4 digit model number, and every accessory I need/want has a three or four digit or alphabet extension. I have been too busy to get on the phone with the company to figure out which model I have, so the really nice-looking appliance on my counter is still unused. I am excited,to be able to fry lots of things, but with no racks, basket or other accessories I am unable to enjoy it.
I decided for my first recipe with the air fryer I would use the Buttermilk Chicken recipe which was in the recipe book that came with the Air Fryer. After the allotted time I removed the chicken only to find the flour batter was still white and not brown as the recipe picture had shown. The chicken was done, bot I had to remove the crust to be able to use chicken. Don't really know what went wrong. Any suggestions?
I am excited to cook with this-not just to "fry" food without fat,I have baked cakes, puddings and meals in it-and I have so many more recipes to try! It is so much quicker than the oven, more economical and does a great job!Looks good in the kitchen-small,compact and light. easy to use-just plug it in!
It has been 2 months that I have been using the Philips Airfyer and have been totally satisfied with my purchase. A simple appliance which lets you do everything from baking, grilling, frying, roasting without any hassles is a true innovation in itself.
The instruction leaflet which accompanied this product was printed on cheap paper and was so small that I had difficulty reading it let alone understanding it. This is not a cheap product and deserves a much better set of instructions.
I tried my family fried chicken recipe and was very excited to find it was crispy and juicy just like pan fried but without the oil and splatter clean up.
Product would be excellent if I could obtain the Grill Pan HD9940 - has been on back order since April. Accessory pieces should be readily available or included with the item - cost was higher than other air fryers.
This air fryer is awesome. I have cooked frozen chicken, pot pies, 'roasted' veggies, 'baked' potatoes, reheated french fries, etc. It all comes out great. I have yet to cook something in it that has not worked well yet. I am hoping to get some of the accessories so I can try cooking other things that are of different consistency. The only thing that might be considered a 'con' is that the directions say to 'shake' what you are cooking part way through the cooking, but it's kind of heavy to do it with just the one handle, so I turn stuff with a pair of tongs instead.
