I'm hooked

peanutbutterbetsy January 31, 2017

I'm officially hooked on my Philips Wake Up Light! I bought one for my parents for the holidays and have recommended it to countless friends. I work in film production, which is notorious for odd and long hours. When I have to wake up at 5am one day, then 4pm the next, I rely heavily on my Wake Up Light to help me wake up easily and on time.

Miricle light alarm clock

Cando January 3, 2017

I got this light wake up for my 22 year old daughter who has NEVER been able to get up and get out of bed, no matter how loud the alarm was. She hasn't been late for work 1 day since she's used it. It is an absolute miracle!! I'm so happy!

Great for winter!

Miriam January 17, 2017

I have so much trouble getting out of bed when it's still dark outside, so I found this alarm clock very helpful in waking myself up. It is brighter than I would have expected for such a small item, and has a loud alarm sound as well, which is important to me. It also looks fairly nice / unobtrusive.

Love it!

Disneylover July 26, 2017

I was excited to use this product and I am not disappointed. It does everything it says it does! I have grown to depend on this light not only to wake me in the morning, but I use it when I don't have to get up early; I put it on just to wake me in a good mood on a cloudy, rainy or snowy day. I highly recommend for everyone! You will not be disappointed! I also found my cat loves it as he always lies near the light after its full illumination.

Philips Sunrise Simulation and Radio Wake-Up Light

PNBJDH January 29, 2017

I really like this alarm clock. The light definitely makes a difference in helping me get up in the morning and I love the sounds of chirping birds. I do wish it had a battery back up. I read reviews and others mentioned it, so it was not enough to keep me from buying it, but if the power goes out during the night, the light flashes (and woke my husband up; he is not a fan of the clock). As long as it does not lose power (and luckily it does not happen often or I would consider finding an inexpensive UPS to make sure it maintains power through brief outages). I have a terrible time waking up in the morning and this has definitely helped me.

Works Well

0w3st February 19, 2018

I initially got this lamp because I was struggling with SAD. I immediately fell in love with it. I love that it wakes you up over a period of 30 minutes and it does mostly fill the room with light. I didn't give it 5 stars because in the months that I've had it, I've not be able to figure out how to use the 'snooze' feature, in spite of repeated (sometimes frantic) attempts tapping all over the unit. Also, sometimes the controls a re a bit hard to work with if you have the highest light setting glaring in your face. Overall though, a worthwhile purchase. So glad I got it.

A more pleasant means of waking

mphillips12000 December 6, 2015

Waking to the glow of this device is a much more gentle way of beginning the day than the abrupt buzz or whine of the typical alarm clock. As an object on the nightstand, the light has a nicely appealing shape and smart looking design. The process of setting the time and alarm is unfortunately entirely typical - a nonintuitive multi-step process of pressing cryptically marked buttons that's become the norm for setting digital clocks.

Helps in the morning, wish it had more sound options - weird way to press snooze

Chatty January 16, 2017

This really does help in the morning. The light does help you wake up and you can chose the level of light. I wish that there were more sound options. There are two - birds or birds with an owl, and the radio. As we go onto month 2 the birds are getting old. Also, to "snooze" you have to hit the top of it - hard. This seems a bit strange. And is really loud. I am not sure how this isn't damaging and jarring the product. There should be other options. Overall, my life is better with this product. I just wish it had some tweaks to make it better and I am nervous it won't last long - I hit snooze 4 times.

Good idea- but missing some essential features

dozy642 July 20, 2020

[Employee of philipsglobal] This product does what it is intended to do, however, I have noticed several flaws that make it a challenge to continue using. First being no battery backup; everytime the power goes out, I have to reset the time and my alarm. This can get annoying. Another issue is that the volume of the bird sounds is not adjustable. I often sleep right through them. I wish the volume would increase to a greater magnitude. Finally, I find it challenging to turn off the alarm- without a hard off/snooze button, I often find myself slapping the device and it not snoozing, or turning off when "pressing" the respective buttons. I like the idea, but I feel a different model with these features would be better. If the items mentioned above are important to you, switch to a different model.

Returned item

Carol January 7, 2025

This was a gift to my granddaughter. She was not happy with it at all and returned it to the store for credit. I haven't received the credit on my account yet.
