I have been waiting for long time for type of product. When I saw it online I purchase it immediately. It comes with the 1 in to 3/4 adapter. I did the installation myself, but I do recommend certified professional plumber. The app is very easy to view and navigate. Be sure to read the instruction.
I am impressed with the product, care taken with packaging, and instructions. Within the first 48 hours of use I detected a small intermittent toilet leak and was able to assess my daily water usage to make better use of my water resources. I look forward to continued improvements as my Phyn and I get better acquainted.
Easy to install and setup. The unit informed me immediately that my water pressure was too high. Having this system installed gives me piece of mind knowing that it will shut off the water in the event of a leak, especially if I'm not home.
Works great! Wish I bought this sooner. Tracks accurate water use
I have not installed the device yet. I had to cancel my contractor due to difficulties connecting Wi-Fi. The device needs the latest WiFi security protocols (WPA2 AES) but cannot work with firewalls, beamforming antennas or AI. I only found out these details working with customer service. I still had a router that seemed to comply but wouldn't work. I got the device working using my phone as a hotspot (good suggestion from Dane in tech support) and also on a stand alone AP. All of my pain could have been avoided if Phyn provided the specific Wi-Fi requirements in their documentation in the box and a list of known good router/AP/network configurations online. (Note that 100 of 137 FAQs pertain to Wi-Fi, app, or network) I also have quibbles with ambiguity in help materials online, e.g. alert sent once a day when water shut off. Does that mean the Phyn valve is closed or the water supply to the Phyn is shutoff? (It's the latter.) I have read other reviews expressing difficulty with Wi-Fi set up so I'm not surprised. My research says the Phyn device is the best available technology so I am looking forward to having a good experience as well after I can reschedule my contractor. I know Phyn is a young company, but a small investment in improved documentation will improve customer satisfaction and free up their techs to address real problems. I'm surprised a solid company like Belkin hasn't fixed those isseus.
I purchased two of these units from different retailers and both times the unit came in previously opened boxes with missing envelopes, guides, and possible connectors. I suspect Phyn is just restocking returned units without any concessions. Buyer beware
XFINITY USERS BEWARE! The Phyn Plus I've had for 36 days has had numerous connectivity issues with my Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've spent hours and hours with the Phyn Support team who has refused to engage in troubleshooting with my Xfinity Tier-3 representative. I have numerous home devices that are connected to my Xfinity Wi-Fi just fine. Instead of the Phyn software development team working with one of the largest national cable Internet companies, Phyn Support blames Xfinity, and Xfinity blames Phyn. My request for a refund has been denied, having the unit for slightly over the 30-day refund period... REASON = XFINITY ISSUE. I now have a useless, expensive $800 manual and difficult shutoff valve! I'll also intend to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau. If you are an XFINITY Wi-Fi user, run from this product... Buyer Beware!!
Absolute trash! After working for a week all it provides is a continuous stream of alerts it has disconnected then reconnected to the Internet. Tech support just told me that my Netgear router was the problem then hung up! AVOID
