Solved my problem with flying bugs in my bathroom.

I could not find a way to switch from bug-light only to full lighting. I read a review that said I should switch the lamp on/off repeatedly to see a change. This was not included in the instructions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I hear insect zapper I think about those big blue hanging lanterns that make a loud noise everytime it kills an insect. So, when I saw PIC Pest Free Living Insect Killer which is a Dual Purpose Bug Zapper and LED Light I had to try it. I live in Louisiana, Mosquito heaven and certain times of the year Flies are a problem. This product looks like a big light bulb with a few tricks. Of Course, it kills mosquitoes and other flying insects on contact in a 855 sq. ft. area but without the loud zapping noise. This is a bug zapper with LED and blue UV light using a 2000 volt electric zapper grid with 195 Lumens meaning its a cool soft lighting. Oh, it fits standard medium sockets (E26) so it will fit your outside light bulb sockets. Now, this is a cool feature you can choose to use the blue light (UV) or the white LED with UV light controlled by your light switch. You simple flip your outdoor light switch and the White LED light come on and you barely see the blue light around the grid.In order to turn off the White light and have just the Blue Uv light on you flip the light switch off for 30 seconds and when you flip it back only the blue light is on. SO, those bugs have to go somewhere when they are killed. This product has a pull out catching tray near the base of the bulb and using the included brush makes cleaning it simple. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The PIC LED Bug Zapper is a great addition to our home. Just screw it in the regaular outside light socket and the dual-purpose bug zapper goes to work. The zapper utilizes LED and blue UV light to draw in flies, moths and mosquitos. The 920 lumen LED light lights up the porch or deck and the 2000 volt electric grid kills the pesky insects quickly.

Wanted to use this item inside the home; instructions said don't touch bulb directly after turning it off. You have to wait awhile. That made me nervous. Product might be better used outside.

After less than two months (more like 1 1/2) the LED no longer produces light. At first, the light was bright enough to illuminate the back deck. After a few weeks the light started getting dimmer. Now, the light is so dim you can't see anything on the deck from inside the house. The package says it will last 10 year @ 2 hrs a day. I wander if they actually tested the life of the light before putting this lie on their package. Piece of junk!

I read the ratings B4 I bought I should have gone with the naysayers but bought 2 anyway... the 2 lights combined couldn't kill a gnat .. my sinks always got gnats and fruit flies... _pic insect killer is pretty but doesn't EVER have a bug in EITHER lamp tray after the week .. central florida
