This toy is excellent for kids. My nephew loves it. We play it together and it keeps him distracted for a while. The marbles are big enough to not lose. The magnetic tiles stick together really well unless bumped with force than it will break apart but not completely as the parts stay together pretty well. It is hard to take pieces apart when building a new maze but its doable. I highly recommend.
This toy is great for kids who love marble runs and want to add it in to their magnatile builds. My four year old can do it mostly on his own, but the pieces are a little tricky and take time to learn. They attach by “clicking” into place, not magnets. So I wouldn't recommend for younger kids unless the parent/guardian is heavily involved as well.
Magnetic tiles add an interesting tweak to typical building toys. Kids are fascinated watching the magnetic marble go through its paces. I love this because it is so open-ended. Kids are in charge of the build, and learn by doing. I purchased 2 of these, so that a larger run could be achieved.
Kids liked it a lot. It's mostly for 4 year olds and older. It is a bit hard to get them to snap in to the squares but once the kids got a hang of it they stopped asking me to do it. They played well if I distribute them by color which allows me to do house work. Only bad part is the marbles were lost very fast, luckily kids started to use cars and it kind of worked. I think it helps them be more creative instead of having them watch tv all the time. My 3 year old did put marble in his mouth so I kept them away from him until they lost them.
The tube pieces are a thin plastic, when taking them apart it feels like they are going to break-they haven't though. A good value for what we paid, we got them on sale.
These are really hard to put together and take apart. When I think of Magna-Tiles, I think of something fun and easy that my son can play with independently. This marble run requires someone to constantly snap pieces together or pull them apart, which gets frustrating quickly for everyone.
this was a gift to my nieces who were in the age reign, but assembly was extremely difficult that their parents had to put it together. the item ended up getting returned due to multiple reasons. the age range should be raised.
This should be so much fun but it's more aggravation than it's worth. Everything you begin to build comes crashing down over and over again. You spend all your time rebuilding a small part that you never get close to finishing a build. The magnets are just not working for the concept of the game.
I purchased Picasso as I have other basic Picasso kits that don't have the columns that our grandson wants for building many of the featured pictures in the basic kits. I recently bought the rails and they are just fine for connecting the tiles into ramps, BUT for this “Marble Run Kit”… My husband's response, “This is a piece of junk. The pieces don't stay together. A kid would have a very hard time assembling it. Send it back.”
This is way too complicated for a young child to put together. I'm an adult and I couldn't figure out how to put it together to do the marble run. Really disappointed with this item.
