Pilot Rock Fire Pit Ring and Cooking Grate - 30 inch Steel - Black

This is my second Pilot Rock fire ring. Had to leave the last one when I moved to my new location. They are well made and worth the little extra money you might pay over an off-brand. I use it for grilling as well as camp fires and I like the national park look it has.

This is our second Pilot Rock fire ring. We moved and because it was an attached feature we had to leave it. Bummer, because it was the highest quality of any other rings out there. If you've ever been to a state or national park campground this is the quality and durability you will. see. An added plus is the free shipping from Northern Tool because this sucker is heavy.

We have been very impressed with the quality and thickness of the fire ring. The swivel grill is a great feature that I had not originally considered using, but has been used much more than I ever imagined. The build quality is the same as you find in a camp site, so expect it to last for years to come!

This fire ring was exactly what I was looking for. The grill installs and removes easily as long as you don't bolt it into place. I like that because I usually just want to have a fire, so don't want the grill in the way when I'm not needing it. The only qualm I have is that there's not a cover included, but for this price, who can complain.

We have enjoyed using this outdoor fire ring for two months now. It is just nice to sit around the fire rather than the TV. Nice quality ring with cooking grate that swings out of the way. We swing it back and add a cover after it has cooled. that way we can store wood in the ring for the next time and it is protected from the weather.

I just bought and my order was delayed slightly, but that is okay. It is made in America and is high quality and built to last. I put mine in Ring of tapered concrete stones and it fit fine. I only had to chip the corners off of 2 stones, as the ring has 2 welded extension brackets for fastening it in ground. I did not use, but I also would have struggled to cut them off like a couple of other buyers did.

No question this is every bit as good or better as any you might find at a NPS or similar campsite. But, 8 inch wide holes, 2 feet deep, to anchor the stanchions, getting them aligned properly, and holding the unit in place while the concrete dried turned out to be a challenge. You really have to hook the fireplace to the stanchion before you let it set and ensure that it is level That takes some doing. But, hopefully the work spent on it makes it a "permanent" installation and I won't have to do another for 20 years. We are enjoying the use of it!

My wife has wanted a fire ring with a cooking grate for a while. So after doing a bunch of research I settled on a pilot rock. Price was great. Shipping was fast. I only thing was the grate would not move when assembled. Had to grind and file some for clearance. Other than that a good product.
