We actually bought one and then a second of these because we updated the office in our house to one of those furniture type crates and then put shelves over it. Unfortunately, those crates do not have any type of tray in them, so if you were dog has an accident of any kind, there will likely be liquid damage to the crate. I bought plastic trays that didn't quite fit, because they were too small, but then I found these metal trays that fit very well. They were very well constructed and definitely fit the bill. I actually put the plastic trays inside the metal tray so there is an added layer of protection for the crate itself. It got tested by my elderly dog this morning, and everything was easy to clean and did its job properly this is definitely a heavy duty tray if you have a dog that is a chewer also.
