Processed 135 pounds of venison through the smoker this season. Used this blend across all of my meat. All of it turned out amazing, which probably has a little to do with the meat and seasoning, but the smoke always came out great. At first I thought this was a bag of leftovers from all the other flavors. Whether or not that is true, I find this blend to be perfect for my needs.
I am fairly new to smoking but have tried a few different brands of pellets and keep coming back to the PitBoss Competition Blend. Everyone in the family enjoys the flavor regardless of what food is being smoked, and they seem to burn cleanest with even heat.
Received an offer for a free bag of pellets due to connection problems over a Thanksgiving weekend. This is unexpected and obviously appreciated. I never complained. It was completely out of the blue. I received the pellets, but I haven't had time to smoke with them, however offering a free bad for receiving intermittent service even though I didn't bring it up it's very professional.
Competition blend never disappoints. Absolutely love them. Nothing to be taken away from the other flavors but the competition blend is very well rounded and makes for a great cook, every time. Well rounded flavor for all varieties of meats and dips and whatever you can think of.
I cook a lot and consistency matters to me. This blend delivers clean flavor without overpowering the meat, and it works across multiple proteins without needing adjustments. It performs exactly how you want competition style seasoning to perform reliable, balanced, and repeatable. I've had great results on chicken, pork, and beef, especially on longer cooks. This is one of those products that just works.
They are high quality pellets and the flavor you get is absolutely amazing. I use them in my Pit Boss for smoking Turkey, Beef Ribs, Brisket and Beef Tenderloin . I always get a nice smoke ring and the flavor comes right through… meat is always juicy and tender!
Hey all, My name Tyler I have a very small(@RoosterHomestead) where I Grill, Smoke, Grittle and Bake all different types of food using mainly the PitBoss Charleston edition #PitbossNation. Over the almost 2 years of content creating and testing most all pellet types and varieties. I can safely say without a shadow of a doubt that not only the pitboss pellets themselves are superior to all others, but the Competition Blend Hardwood Pellets are my go-to for every cook weather its Venison, Beef, Chicken, Fish, Pizza ,or Vegies. it has the best overall smoke flavor without being to overpowering and has an EPIC aroma for the entire cook. you'll have the whole neighborhood drooling! 10/10 highly recommend!(this is not a paid review this truly my honest feedback, hope it helps!)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flavor I get from these pellets is definitely the most versatile that Pit Boss offers and works well with any meat. There are some different pellets I'll use on rare occasions if I'm going for a specific flavor profile, but as far as the one pellet I absolutely must have, this is it.
I got a free bag of competition. Blend sent to me from Pit Boss because the app on my phone messed up on Thanksgiving while I was smoking my first spatchcockturkey. I didn't even notify them of the app malfunction, they reached out to me. The competition blend adds some great flavor to baby baby back ribs, pig shots, and Mexican street corn dip. Oh, and by the way, my turkey was a hit, and I used the Cherry Blend on it
I followed thee directions and added to my charcoal to smoke some ribs on the smoker, the temp kept going over 500 and took forever to burn down enough to be able to low slow smoke my ribs. The smell was amazing and it did add great flavor, just burns extremely hot
