Pixie 3 Drawer Vertical Chest - What I love and what could be improved: PROS: LOVE the color of the chest; it is beautiful! It's a true Rich Walnut with visible wood grain. Additionally it's a very clean modern dresser so if you love mid-century modern this piece will fit in perfectly with that style. Also it is made from solid and plywoods with some fiberboard covered in a wood veneer. Made with dowels and wood screws too, which is a huge improvement from the typical cam Hardware on most dressers in this price range. Finally and what really made me pull the trigger on this chest of drawers was the depth of each drawer and the storage capacity. Unlike most three drawer chests on the market this one actually holds a significant amount of clothing stacked three columns wide and can be used as a real dresser and not just something you throw a few magazines and a couple of sweaters in. Because I needed storage but didn't want the chest to sit too high, flanking the bed, I chose to keep the feet off. With the feet on, it's beautiful too, I just didn't want it too high and uncomfortable to set things on while in bed. CONS: in general I would say you have to be pretty handy, have a few tools on hand besides what's provided, and be able to finesse this piece of furniture together. By that I mean if you tighten the bolts to tight you'll crack the wood. So be very, very careful when wrenching down those bolts especially on the body stiles or cross bars that seperate the drawers when attaching those to the side panels. So finger tight and listen for any cracking. Luckily for me I had some liquid nails and so I decided I was just going to glue and screw all the wood pieces to increase strength, stability and longevity of the product. That way if something failed later, the glue would give added support. I used Liquid Nails instead of wood glue because there were some gaps where you need a product that's meant for Gap adhesion. Liquid Nails is perfect for that whereas wood glue is better for tighter joinery than in this application. Second, some of the little plastic, I'll call them cams, that are required on the drawer build, do not sit flush when inserted and when you put the screw in they can pop out so, have a flat head screwdriver handy that fits inside those holes where the plastic cams go to make sure any remnant of wood left from the pre-drill is removed so the cams sit flush and then hold those in place with your thumb while putting the screw in. A couple cams would not go in the hole and just needed to be tapped in with a hammer FYI. Finally, the drawers only pull out approximately halfway. If you don't mind that, don't hesitate to buy, but if you have to have full extension drawers, this is not the chest for you. Drawers also need a little extra push last 1/4" to sit flush and need a little working in and out at first to get them to close smoothly. Drawer Glides could be improved. Ultimately very happy with price, look and quality!
