love this printer dose all I ask all I need I used to have one of those $35 printers where it was not wireless and I would use up the ink fast and the ink was so much for little things to where those have big battles that come with the printer when you get the printer and I have had it a month use it ever day and still haven't had to get need ink and the ink is about the same or little cheaper then the little things of inks
I am so glad I bought this printer. Because seems like every time I turned around my wife wanted me to put new ink cartridge's in her printer. Now it takes about three times longer for her to go through the ink. PLUS the ink is much cheaper than the ink cartridge's.
My first tank printer. Was tired of the battle of cartridges. It comes with a disc to download the printer driver. My laptop was new this year due to Windows 7 no longer being supported. Per the included instructions I was directed to the Cannon web site. Once registered, I was provided a phone number for downloading the driver. I was very impressed with the technical support. They walked me through the process. I immediately printed a black and white doc then a photo. The black and white doc zipped out very fast. The color photo was noticeably slower which I expected. Quality was good. I hocked mine up wirelessly. This feature is very helpful to me as my phone and iPad are Apple and my laptop is Windows 10. I have owned this printer for one week. I am very satisfied at this time.
I'm a photographer and this printer is a lifesaver. Sure there is a bit of a learning curve when setting it up via wifi, however once you know how to put it into that mode (hold wifi button until power blinks - about 3 seconds, then press the copy color button, then press the wifi button again and the wifi LED should blink rapidly. you are now ready for a new wifi connection) the printer is one of the best at its price point. I tried the epson eco tank around this price and it was much worse in terms of photo printing quality. I have already refilled the tanks twice that is how much I use this baby. Keep in mind you may (if you print a lot) have to clean the ink absorption pads because they fill up quick. You may sometimes get also a 5B00 error that says you must take the printer in for service - don't. Google search a video on youtube how to remove the error, or use this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wo_suktXOE. Other than that, great purchase, great printer. All the people who negatively vote this thing don't know how to use it properly. If you look at their reviews they are concerning connection issues etc, which are USER ERROR. LEARN TO USE YOUR PRINTER - IT's A GREAT ONE!
Love this printer! I took off 1 star because it comes with a disk which you would assume would have the drivers to use the printer, but it just connects you to their website instead. I know most products and games you purchase now do this, but we live in the country and have very poor internet access. Aside from that great printer! awesome print quality, and I'm hoping for slightly longer usage with the refillable ink tanks.
This printer does not support airprint. It warms up fast and the first print job is fast. It goes to sleep after a couple hours and you have to manually power it up.
I've had this unit for 3 weeks and I am mostly pleased with it. It was a reasonable cost and is the eco tank type of ink refill. The scanning process is a little awkward but manageable. I'm not crazy that there is a vertical paperfeed tray but not a deal breaker. Consumer Reports gave it a positive mention.
Couldn't find instructions how to set up Wifi and the printer doesn't wake up when I send it a printing job. It would be great if it had a screen. The printing is good. a little noisy but normal print as well as pictures are fine. Hopefully not needing to buy ink very often will balance the short comings.
This printer didnt even get past the set up process it wouldnt do anything just a flashing error light as soon as I set up following the included in the box and calling the support line yhey told me to take back to the store. And then when I tried to return instore and the csm told me she wasnt going to take it because there was ink in it and I had to get a manager to resolve.
I have had several canon printers over many years. This one was a disappointment. Looks nice and filling the tanks was very easy and cheaper than cartridges that are difficult to recycle. The power cord didn't fit tight. The wireless had trouble recognizing my network and couldn't connect. Direct printer cord not included. Last time I talked to Canon customer service the person could barely speak English, so I didn't try. Some of those set up assistant calls cost extra.
