Fits well in my allowed

Beautiful but natural wood is very touchy. My grandchildren put scratches in it almost immediately after it was built.

My husband just finished putting this table together and we are not pleased at all. The corners are not matching up. They are so uneven you can see it right away. Aren't they suppose to be smooth?? What can we do about it. Please let us know. So far not happy at all
