Plank+Beam Solid Wood Farmhouse High Loft Bed, Barnwood Brown

Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and am likely to consider Plank & Beam again.

This loft bed was the perfect addition to my teen daughter's small bedroom. It is very well made with a shabby chic cottage vibe. It is solid wood and the weight capacity is higher than competitors. That matters for the sturdiness and durability of the bed in addition to weight capacity. It was reasonably easy for 2 people to assemble in under 2 hours. There is a good sized area under the bed that had capacity for a large dresser and small loveseat, effectively doubling the capacity of the room. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.

The instructions were easy to follow and the predrilled screw holes were all in the correct spot. 6 year old is very excited to climb into his new bed. Very sturdy.

Like the simplicity and the space underneath. Easy to assemble. Not as sturdy feeling as I would like but still happy with it.

The bed took some time to arrive but it was worth it. The bed looks identical to the picture. It's made of solid wood and is evenly stained. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of how long it took to arrive and as a small adult it's difficult to climb up and down the ladder. If the bed came with additional steps or a bigger ladder that would be amazing! However, it is still a great product and I highly recommend this bed for children!

The beds are a great price and the construction for assembly is very good. However, the finish provided on these beds was very substandard. The finish is very poor as is quite chalky and very prone to scuffing and scratching. In order to make these beds acceptable, I sanded all the pcs., re-stained them, and then added two coats of water-base urethane varnish. They are now beautiful and something I can be proud of. You need to change you finishing process to make these beds acceptable.

I thought given the wood construction that this would feel sturdy, but it sways quite a bit. We ended up adding brackets underneath the top bunk to reduce the movement

The use of thin slats to support the mattress is a real disappointment. My wife weighs less than 100 lbs, but the slats made it incredibly uncomfortable for her, with a child safe mattress. They should really use a widder slat system for a bed that can support 400 lbs. Otherwise the construction and materials seem good.

I give this bed 2 stars because the wood is solid. But I wish I could return the bed. It is very unstable. It sways from side to side with any slight movement. The bed sits on wood floor. No reason it should sway. I contacted the customer service and was told that's just how the bed is built. Zero support. Very disappointed.

This bed received many dings... maybe during shipping, but I have my doubts (I hope they wouldn't sell something with known damages). The one that causes most concern is this spot. It's the bottom most rail of the bed part and we have concern that's it could compromise the integrity of the entire bed over time. It should never have been sold this way... the shipment box didn't appear damaged though, so we think it could have looked like this prior to shipping
