The shelf unit was set up in less than 2 minutes - sturdy design for almost any storage need. I used mine for painting supplies and found that it was the perfect height for stacking pints of paint and paintbrushes standing up in a jar. I chose white to help compliment the decor in the room I put it in. From previous purchases, I can also attest that they move around easily if you need to move. Just unload, the shelves pop apart and then reassemble very quickly. You can combine two units as well if you have taller shelf needs or leave off a shelf if you need a shorter one! It is plastic so you can't expect it to be a he-man unit, but if used properly, with even weight distribution, should last you many, many years!!! It does have ability to anchor to wall, you would have to provide your own screws, but that is an option too!
For the money, it's a great garage organizer. I had things stacked, and stuffed everywhere, especially my tools, various chargers, sprayers, fertilizers, etc. Now they're easy to find and use. One shelf is devoted solely for my batteries and chargers (I have a lot). 70 lbs. per shelf is more than adequate for normal garage/yard/lawn items. Don't overload it then complain it sags. Won't sag if you load it properly. Strongly suggest the use of a rubber mallet or regular hammer with a wood block to put together. Easy peasy. Couldn't be more pleased, and it's "MADE IN AMERICA"!
I placed a laundry basket on each shelf and on top. The one with jeans went on the bottom as its the heaviest. The lightest on top. Now my husband and I can sort clothes as they are put in the laundry room and I can walk to the sink with out falling over a basket or stacking them. My husband even said it was a really good idea. The shelf is easy to assemble and very sturdy. It only takes up the floor space of 1 basket. I used baskets 22' long and 16'' wide. I don't recommend using a basket any wider than 16".
Very easy to put together. Lots of storage space. I bought 2 sets of these shelves and I made one set into 5 high and the other set into 3 high, so it would fit under my window. I needed something to put my crates of yarn on so I could find the colors easier. The crates are 19'' long x 14'' wide. They fit all my crates nicely and with room to spare. My other crafts fit on these shelves along with the crates of yarn. I checked reviews of other shelves and there were no reports of these shelves bowing from added weight. I took a chance and I am very happy with this purchase. If I am in need of more shelving space, I will definetly buy more of this product.
While I was disappointed with the loose packing, which is just a band of cardboard around each unit with a couple of plastic ties that leave the product totally exposed to weather, there was no damage to the product upon inspection. I ordered 6 units, and they all arrived intact. Each took just a couple of minutes to snap together (no instructions needed) and they were SO EASY to handle and move around. I had no issues whatsoever with sagging shelves, so I don't know what those other people were trying to load onto them. They are plastic, so put heavier things on lower shelves to stabilize the unit. I had no trouble carrying all 6 units to my basement, assembling them there and carrying them to their destination against the wall. Low price, too. Totally worth it.
Over the years I've purchased many Plano plastic shelves, and I love them! For any application - they are economical, light-weight, sturdy, easy to keep clean and easy to move. I especially like using them in bedroom closets for extra shelf storage. I prefer the design of Plano over other brands.
This product is so appropriate for what I purchased it for, mainly storage for arts and crafts. As long as it's set up properly there should be absolutely no problem. Holds up very well and helps me keep organized. I have purchased three, that should be proof enough I like this product and if I needed another one no doubt I'd buy these shelves again. Hope this info is helpful.
I bought 4 of these with ship to store. One had obviously been damaged in shipping. The other three assembled easily but they certainly will not hold 100 pounds per shelf. Most weight should be put on bottom shelves to reduce probability of tipping.
I had this shipped to my apt- disaster. It wasn't event sent in a box! Only the cardboard it was wrapped in as if you bought it at the store. As a result, it was broken in numerous different places (duh, walmart. You can't ship plastic things without packing them) and now I have to go through the hassle of trying to return it (I had t shipped because there are no walmarts near me).
This item is advertised as holding 100 pounds per shelf; that's 400 pounds total for four shelves. Yet what I received states right on the outside box that it holds a total of only 280 pounds. Not as advertised. Also arrived in half a box, leaving the unboxed sides dirty. I didn't even open the box; back it goes.
