Plano Sportsman Trunk, OD Green, Small, 56-Quart Lockable Storage Box

I picked up this Plano Sportsman Trunk (56-quart, OD Green) for storing some of my hunting and camping gear, and it's been nothing short of awesome. The construction feels incredibly tough—definitely not your average flimsy plastic tote. I've tossed it in the back of my truck, stacked heavy bins on top, and even left it outside overnight. It holds up like a champ. I love that it's lockable and airline approved. I haven't flown with it yet, but I feel confident it'll do the job when I need to. The snap-down latches are secure, and the lid stays shut even when bumped around during transport. It's surprisingly roomy for a "small" box—easily fits my tools, ammo, gloves, and a couple of small camping stoves. The molded grooves on the top make stacking multiple trunks neat and stable, which helps me stay organized in the garage. Also a big fan of the side handles. Makes it easy to carry, even when it's fully loaded. Overall, it's a solid, dependable trunk that I'd recommend to anyone who needs serious storage that can take a beating—whether you're an outdoorsman or just looking for a rugged storage solution.

They didn't fit quit like I anticipated because the bed frame had slanted braces that got in the way, requiring bed risers. But the totes are very sturdy. The lids sit on top, so you can pack them all the way to the top and the lid will still close. They are also set up to accommodate locks. They even have molded lids and bottoms, so they fit together when stacked. You really can't lose with these. I can safely say I would buy again, because I originally purchased 18 and then came back for 2 more.

I use these to store camping gear that would otherwise tumble around in the cargo area. I have also used these trunks to bring gear and electronics to the beach while keeping sand out. By comparison, and the reasons why we switched are, the Plano's (1) hold more storage than the Action Packers, (2) have a better latching / locking system, and (3) have fitting grooves on the lid that make them stackable. We have the 56 quart and the 111 quart tubs and love them. #sweepstakes

I bought this for my new SUV, and it is great in that it stores everything, but being black like the interior it is not very noticeable. I just wish it had a gripper bottom so as not to slide around as much. We did put a cable around it and secured it to the side of the SUV. Otherwise a great product. Very sturdy and well built.

Just picked up two of these today. The first thing I noticed was how snug the lid fit to the bin. It's infinitely more water-resistant than anything made by Sterlite/Rubbermaid for the same price. The latches are solid and secure, and the tie-downs are a really nice bonus to have in my Jeep. They stack VERY nicely too. I honestly can't believe these are offered at this price. Nice bonus...they're made in the US! No Chinese-made plastics here!
