What a fantastic oil for repelling mosquitoes! I had read it was a good for this and even though its a bit pricey let me tell you it is well worth every single penny! I made a spray with fco for my skin and one with EverClear to spray clothing and my outdoor furniture . I live in the southeast US where mosquitoes are almost considered our state bird and I am thrilled with how well this works! I wasnt bitten once while outside working with my horses or afterwards relaxing on my deck. Yay!!As an added bonus it is a very calming scent and I have also used it to wind down after a long day. I highly recommend this oil!
Happy with my purchase. Using it as muscle relaxant in diy lotions and for gums (anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory) in my gum serum: lemongrass (tissue regeneration) and elemi diluted in FCO. I use the same serum on my face or for neck tension at work. Great thing about nature is how multi-use and complex in its structure it can be, yet very simple for us to use. Extreme caution with cats! I opened the bottle to smell it when it arrived and closed it. With a minute one of my cats started going crazy. Despite having no drops on me in any fashion, the smell in my nose just kept getting stronger and stronger for 20 minutes after. Very strong oil. Smells like grass. I had to bubble wrap it and wash my hands to calm her down. Because of this I don't diffuse it, but it has great topical properties. Dilute it.
Catnip is my go-to oil to keep the mosquitoes away. I was told it was the best for this use and it really is! I put this in my diffuser and use it on my patio to keep the mosquitoes away. It actually works quite well if there is not much wind. But I also
Catnip is my go-to oil to keep the mosquitoes away. I was told it was the best for this use and it really is! I put this in my diffuser and use it on my patio to keep the mosquitoes away. It actually works quite well if there is not much wind. But I also make up a spray to spritz the furniture and even our clothing if we choose to do that and it makes being outside so much more enjoyable. I have been buying almost exclusively with PT for a couple of years now because their products are outstanding their prices more than fair and their customer service is second to none! They are absolutely the best company I have ever done business with!
I love this catnip EO! It is fantastic for keeping mosquitoes away. I make a blend of catnip and citronella in a base of vodka and/or witch hazel (depending on my mood when I make up a new bottle lol). I spritz my clothes and the lawn furniture and I can
I got this to add to a DIY bug spray for my dogs. Its been workng great with all the other ingredients i used. Funny thing about this EO, my cat walks on the credenza past all my oils all the time, but after receiving this oil, she stopped and was smellin
I use Catnip as part of my insect repellant spray. It works as long as you make sure that the spray covers every part of your skin. The smell is an acquiredone, but if you get to smell a catnip plant, you will recognise the essential oil and help your brain to get used to the smell. The plant has milder smell.
I mixed this into lotion to use as a mosquito repellent. My husband and kids used a different combination of oils. We went on a walk through the woods and the others were getting eaten; I wasn't. Then once I started working up a sweat the mosquitoes found me. I don't know if there was something I could have done to prevent that. It seems like it would have worked had I been sitting around but not for a hike. One last note it is a strong smell. I can tolerate it but I've also nursed four children through various illnesses and changed their diapers so I my standards for disgusting smell may be different from yours. My two older kids left the cabin because they couldn't take the smell and my daughter remarked that she was glad she d be sitting in the rear of our minivan to be away from the smell. She may be a bit of a drama queen but consider yourself warned.
There is no question that the quality of this oil is top-notch, as with all PT oils, but I really do not care for the aroma... It's just a bit too pungently medicinal / herbal for my liking, even when mixed with other oils. Personally I'd rather use other oils for my bug repelling needs.
I cannot stand the smell. I was hoping to use it for anxiety, but the smell is too repulsive.
