Great dvd bundle that had amazing special features. Would love to see more series get this level of treatment and release. Series is very fun and enjoyable.
I have just started looking at the Plastic Man DVD but have enjoyed it so far. I recommend that you watch with your children it is a great animated show. I have not seen these cartoons since the original network broadcast. Brought back wonderful memories.
It looked great, and it didn't shrink or tear up when I washed it.
I remember watching this show when I was a kid. What a fun cartoon! There are some really silly parts sprinkled throughout the episodes so the cartoon obviously doesn't take itself too seriously. The villains are of the second and maybe even the third string variety. The supporting characters leave much to be desired. Hula Hula is the sterotypical sidekick that is always getting into trouble. His famous "bad luck" gets him in many a jam. Did I mention he's full of bad puns? In all honesty, I've been hoping something would happen to that guy just so he'd stop making appearances. Penny is the beautiful pilot and Plastic Man's not-so-secret admirer. She's every bit as useful as Hula Hula when it comes to getting into trouble. The Chief is Plastic Man's boss. She's a lovely vision but she's almost always complaining to Plastic Man about how ineffectual he is. I bet she doesn't get much in the way of presents for Bosses Day. Also, these disks have a few episodes that involves Baby Plas. Apparently, Plastic Man and Penny get married and have a baby. I haven't watched those particular episodes yet but I'm betting Baby Plas is about as much fun as Scrappy Doo. The audio and video quality are okay. These cartoons have not been cleaned up so they look exactly as they did 30 years ago. All in all, these disks are a hoot. I'd recommend them to anyone that likes superhero cartoons.
great for my Hanna Berra collection thanks
Great set!
DC Comics is famous and infamous for coming up with characters with zany personalities, such as The Creeper, Ambush Bug, and Plastic "Plas" Man. This cartoon series brings back memories from the 'good-ole-days' of cartoons. Pure American animation. Non of the foreign stuff. The series was done in a more refined 'Super Friends' style of animation, closer to Blue Falcon & Dynomutt, and mid Scooby Doo era. I'm glad they didn't 'clean up' the animation or re-animate it. This takes me back to the days when cartoons were simple, and didn't require a PhD in Japanese culture to follow. Sure, the humor is zany and goofy, but that's what I like about the series. Plastic Man is a hoot to watch. It's a joy to watch a hero, who doesn't take himself seriously. The supporting characters are clueless. Everything about this series is magic.
I purchased this to put on my Plex Server so that I could watch it with my niece and nephews (all 10 or under). I watched this as a kid growing up as this was one of the Saturday morning cartoons that I watched prior to "getting too old to watch them on a regular basis". Just as hilarious as I remembered
