This game is basically operation, but with a dinosaur and little dino theme pieces to pull out. With that said, I loved it! If you turn off the lights and play it in the dark the things become a little bit more challenging since the dino pieces glow in the dark (very slightly) but it becomes a little harder to see where the tweezers are! I can see my kids spending some time playing this, but it's definitely more of a single player game (unless you convince them to race and see who's a faster operator!)
My kids are 6, 4, and 2. We all played and enjoyed dissecting the triceratops. They would jump and scream of excitement each time the board vibrated. Even I got all excited losing my turn. It reminded me so much of playing operation as a child. I'm glad my kids got to enjoy this new board game.
I used this in my daycare with the three year olds and they LOVED it. They thought it was so funny and the coolest thing ever. I love how it's great for them to not only have fun, but really helps them working on their fine motor skills. I also enjoy that this game can really be used with many ages.
This spin off game of operation is so cute! My 8 year old son was obsessed with Dino Dissection. Getting the little parts out without setting the game off was so much fun to watch. Of course my older son had to join in and they had to "race" to see who could get the furthest. The setup was really easy, the directions were very simple to understand and a fun game for any dino lover.
My 3 year old loves dinosaurs and he absolutely loved this game! He enjoyed it so much I bought it again to put up just in case he looses pieces to his original one. Surprisingly he didn't need any help and it was very easy to play even though he's only 3 . My only complaint is I wish the stickers would stick to the plastic better some have already fallen off but he doesn't seem to kind so it's ok
We received Dino Dissection for my 4 year old son to play and test out. He loves dinosaurs so he was very excited to see this game, it is similar to operation however this is more user friendly for younger kids which is great. The set up was easy, just pop out the pieces, add the stickers and you're all set. All the small pieces have a compartment on the back of the game for safe keeping, there is also a compartment for the tweezers so everything stays nicely right in the game board. The game pieces were larger sized to help with little hands working on coordination, it has a fun buzzer for if you miss the piece. It glows in the dark for fun as well! This game was a total hit in our home, I'd definitely recommend this to any family with younger kids!
Dino Dissection is so much fun and really tests your level of stillness. My son enjoyed being able to put the stickers are the objects that go into the open slots. The tweezers can be found in the side compartment over on the back. There is also another compartment where you can store your game pieces!!
The game is cute, my son loves dinosaurs, always have. When he seen the game he wanted to play ASAP. Him and his sister played for about a hour they stated that they enjoyed it but when it was someone else's turn they had to put all the pieces back in cause once it shakes, all of them come out and after a little while it gets old. But over all it's a good game. Super easy to understand and do.
My son enjoyed playing with this game because he's really into dinosaurs right now. Its actually very much like the game Operation, but there is difference in quality, the plastic on this just seems a bit flimsier but it didn't effect overall game play. The tweezers with this game aren't the best so my son used them to push the little pieces instead of grabbing them with the tweezers, (so it actually worked out just fine for him). Also, the bottom of the game is metal and not the sides of the spaces your trying to take things out of so in a way it's easier and I actually prefer it this way because my son gets so easily startled by the buzzing. There's a compartment underneath to store all the spare parts, it's really difficult to open and close, that was the main downside to this game, otherwise I think it's great for smaller kids who don't have the hand dexterity or strength yet and this is a pretty good game to help them with that.
My overall review of this product the game Dino Dissection, is that it's a cute idea, it's kinda sketchy itself. Setting the game up and installing the batteries was very easy. I had my 8 years old try it out and when he put the metal tweezers to the metal parts of the dinosaur, it made an actual spark! I don't think that's supposed to happen. So for that, I'd say be careful when having your children play this game.
