This product drove my cat insane with happiness! Tiny touches such as the wiggle in the material (kinda like jello), and the bugs inside, bring out his inner beast! This is by far one of his favorite toys. He is a Bengal so lots of energy, lots of wrestling. It has been well over a month and the thing has not broken or torn. it is ready for playtime whenever he is! The lizard's "skin" will pick up lent and other floor items, so its important to rinse off repeatedly.
I would love to know why they are so expensive? I would expect them to be actually alive at that price. I swear this is a good review lol. I had the misfortune of having to move out of my little house in Denver bc divorce. Boooo. It had the nicest yard, a doggy door, grass, trees %26 lots of bugs for my feline daughter, Elvira, to bring me every 20 minutes. We moved here from AZ where the creatures were different but the sentiment the same, i'm sure. One of her favs is lizards. They're fast %26 fun, just like Elvira. I got me a job downtown thought i'd try something new %26 get us an apartment in a tall building walking distance from my office. Immediate regret. My girl has been miserable %26 bored %26 dependent on my coming up w things for her to do. I've been trying to find anything that fans her huntress spirit without having to go to a pet store to buy live food (bugs) %26 release them in my apartment, which i seriously contemplated doing. These little lizards are the perfect rubbery material to give them that “realistic” look when they are slightly touched. Poked holes in the body to get whatever scent on the inside, to the outside. what im trying tonight is attaching them to a thin elastic string that i use for making bracelets. Im hoping it gives them even more of an “alive” vibe. I will say, i also purchased some harder rubber realistic looking lizards %26 i got way more for much less. Still a fan of these two Playology lizards. Decent brand, imo. Cats are freaks %26 it's a hit or miss with everything with them. So far these are a hit.
It doesn't have feathers nor battery life (the survey asked me to rate; no option for N/A). I thought he would love these, the cat, and he does bat at them if I throw it around. He loves the spider on a stick from Playology. I plan to tie these on to a stick and expect he will play more with them
My cat had no interest in this toy for months and then recently he went crazy over it. I noticed today that since yesterday he chewed the head off and had an ant exposed. I wasn't sure if this was still safe to play and came to read all the reviews about how dangerous these toys are! So glad I came to check. Too bad these are so hazardous because my cat loves it now. Like many have said cats are quick and it takes a second for it to be possibly ingested and not have enough time to react and grab hold of. I panicked when I couldn't find the head but eventually found it.
Cat was chewing on the green one so I checked it to make sure she wasn't chewing it apart. It showed no signs of being chewed apart at all. She started chewing the red one. I got up to check that one and she then swallowed before I could get her mouth open and the whole tail was ingested that quickly. Now for the stress and expenses. Horrible toy.
Horrible product. My cat chewed off the tails and swallowed them. If she needs surgery, a lawsuit will follow. This product should never have been produced. This was a known possibility that this could happen. It says a lot about a company that says they are pet friendly, scientific based products but they are not safe for your pet to play with, but are non the less still sold to make a profit back instead of discontinuing said rubber products. This company chooses money over pet safety.
Cheap flimst garbage. Cat bit tail of and swallowed in blink of an eye. Nobody can move that fast so supervising doesn't matter
I bought this toy today and in under a minute my cat chewed the head off and swallowed it. When I realized what she was doing I tried to stop her but it was too late.
Do not buy these! Cat ate the back half off within 15 minute of play. Was supervised but it happened so quick I wasn't able to stop him from swallowing. Waiting at the ER vet to hopefully induce vomiting.
Bought this today at my local pet store, and after about 10 min of playing with them, the tails were bitten off and swallowed by my cat. Fingers crossed it comes out the other side. Definitely not safe for cats to play with, nor is swallowing a bunch of plastic.
