I'll be honest... Sometimes it's tough finding the right mix of people to play a game like Poetry. Most of the folks we know are either easily distracted, or not good at make one word for things on cards. The game can quickly get derailed and the inflatable bat becomes the center of attention... Or maybe we should stop playing with man-children. LolIt's a simple enough concept, but the twist of having to get your team to shout the naughty phrases you're trying so hard to say in single syllables is outright outrageous! Sometimes the points matter so much less than the hysterical outcome. Tears streaming down our faces!This is a great party game that every irreverent home should own. It's easy to explain and hilarious to watch how people decipher the cards to their team. Just... Be careful swinging that bat around... 😂

Had first and loved it. Not safe for work was good too. Liked the patch for fix stick since my first one broke. New mat is nice, since can move where need. Real gift is new dirt on friends when flap arms for meat “drapes” or when hard word stop you for most of the round.

I love this game. It is silly, ridiculous, and stupid simple to play. However, it is very challenging as it is very difficult not to use more than one syllable and a round might devolve into a violent clubbing. The uncensored version does turn this up as it favors those who have had a broader exposure if you will. This is not an all night game unless it's your thing. Solid 15-60 minutes before things start to get repetitive. Bonus if you play with your mom/grandma/friend who doesn't know any of the sayings and needs you to explain each to them.

We played this with 5 people. One friend had played the original before so had an idea how to play, but the instructions are pretty easy to follow. It took a couple of rounds before we really got the hang of it, but once we did, it was hilarious.This is the Uncensored version, so explicit content, ages 17+ is the recommendation. Familiarity with Urban Dictionary is helpful because some of this will go over your head without it. However, you don't necessarily need to know what the phrase means to play it. We didn't end the round per the game rules. We were having too much fun and didn't care to be competitive so we just kept playing. This one is going into regular rotation for adult game night.Highly recommend for the right crowd!

This game is very similar to taboo but you have to use 1-syllable words (an added dimension of difficulty). This uncensored version can get raunchy which is fun with friends, but really awkward with family! lol The inflatable club adds another component to the game when you get to hit the “poet” for violating a rule. It can get pretty brutal if you're playing with close friends. Overall, a really fun game and I hope they make expansion packs for new cards.

If you're already familiar with other Poetry for Neanderthals games then you know you're going to have fun with this one! It's similar to the "NSFW" version but with a whole new/different set of cards. My only gripe is small; the cards that replaced the scoring mat in previous versions as I preferred having a larger dedicated scoring space. It does not include a timer of any kind, which I understand the reasoning for (it's also called put in the rule book), but it feels odd/bad for the newly purchased game to tell you you'll have to use something outside of the game box to play the game as intended. Overall, the new cards are great, the inflatable stick is cute as ever, and I'm happy to have a other Poetry for Neanderthals version onu shelf.

It takes a lot of time to think of 1 syllable words - once you get in the rhythm for that it's easier. The clubbing is fun and the little guy on the club looks high so that's fun. We honestly didn't know all the expressions so that made it challenging. This game is much easier to learn than some other EK games so it won't take long to figure out. This game could easier be turned into a drinking game as well.

This game made us laugh so hard. Amazing how hard it is to find one-syllable words under pressure. Same great flow of the original version. But not for the prudish. so much fun when the sweet innocent 1 point word guessing turns into the gutter diving 3 pointers. There are some urban dictionary-style phrases that you will be afraid to look. And if you know the meaning of all of the phrases...you might want to take a bath in some holy water! Your souls needs a good scrubbing.

I think the mature twist on an already beloved game makes this a joy for me and my group of friends. We played this with 3, 19 year old boys. They all enjoyed it and we had a blast, only gripe is that we wish there were 3 to 4 rounds for groups of 3 because it was over so quick.
