Goes around randomly in the pool. Not very efficient. Because of the random patterns it doesn't end up scrubbing the walls/waterline properly and only gets a few sections each run. After about halfway into the cycle it will start to float and not bother climbing the walls all the way. In the manual it says to stop the cycle, clean the basket, and continue the clean, but that does take the convenience out of it a lot if you have to babysit it every time it collects an ounce of debris. For the price point I was expecting something a littler smarter and thorough. The fact that it is cordless is great, but without a pathing system you might as well get some of the cheaper cordless models out there. The charging time leaves a lot to be desired however I did like that it charged via contact with the base station rather than a plug to remove that point of failure. Still has to be dry before charging though.
