Police Squad!: The Complete Series

"Police Squad!" is a classic piece of comedic television. It spawned not only 3 movies with the same cast and a soon to be released legacy sequel starring Liam Neeson (The Naked Gun), but also many, many imitators. It requires multiple viewings to catch all of the jokes as there are too many to see in just one watch. In my opinion, if you are a fan of comedy, it is required to see this series.

Well, if you're a fan of The Naked Gun films, then you have to have this series in your collection. This is why the films say, “from the files of, Police Squad.” This series is as funny as the movies are but this kind of humor didn't work on a weekday night television series. You can't have your attention broken by commercials or distractions that make you miss something important. Now, you can't watch them in beautiful HD quality (anything shot on film transfers nicely to HD) and without commercials. You'll decide when you're ready to watch them so that limits your distractions. Also, pausing is possible so you don't miss anything. There are jokes in the background that you'll find with repeated viewing, so repeatability is the same as watching movies. There's even a running gag which would have built into a really long joke if the series continued. After they solve a crime, they talk about how the criminal will now serve their time just like, (and they name each of the previous criminals back to the first episode).

Great Blu-ray, good picture and sound (you have to consider the fact it's a TV show and not the best audio/visuals in the first place) a great addition to any Naked Gun collection. If you're a fan of the movies definitely check this out

Disc and box were in perfect condition. Such a great pick up for any fan of the show. Comes with one blu ray disc . Get it while you can. Or package it with the naked gun movie blu ray collection to have the entire run of police squad

Before “The Naked Gun” series, Leslie Nielsen knocked it out of the park on this short-lived TV show! My only complaint is that they didn't make more episodes… Regardless, this is a must own for any series fan of classic comedy.

I had recorded all 6 episodes from the TV on VHS back in the day and watched them over and over. First, they look great on blu-ray, far better than they looked on a standard definition TV, and much better than those old VHS! The show was shot on film and the remaster holds up well when viewed on an OLED 4K TV. Just remarkable.\nI also find them just as funny as almost 40 years ago. Since my wife likes Angie Tribeca I thought she'd get a kick out of these too, I was right.\nFans will be delighted!
