For Poltergeist, Steven Spielberg was a writer/producer and Tobe Hooper who directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the director. It has much of the glossiness of Spielberg films of that time. Rated PG however, I think it's scarier than many other PG rated scary movies. Message / Lesson: uh, respect the dead? For families? Maybe if the kiddies are young, see how they like a classic Universal Monster movie first. This is more intense. AHHHH!!! For some reason, the "Things you might consider in your review" seems to suggest a mention of Christmas. I do not think of it as a xmas movie, but maybe a nice xmas gift? It seems more of a halloween movie if some holiday

Improved shadow detail allows you to see more without crushing. Bright supernatural effects (portals, ghost lights) stand out with more intensity. Colors remain natural, only becoming slightly more vivid when the haunting intensifies—faithful to the original tone. This is my personal favorite horror film by far and it still holds up now. Without going into too much detail, it is the story of a family dealing with supernatural forces trying to tear them apart. Brilliant. DO NOT MISS. ENJOY.

The quality on this 4K is impressive. It looks so sharp and modern for an old 1980s movie. And of course, Poltergeist is one of the best horror movies of all time!

Mommy there here one of the best horror movies of the 80s. Craig T. Nelson and Jobeth Williams lead an excellent cast of characters in a 4k extravaganza.

There were no issues with buying this item, but the disc itself was defective and froze repeatedly. I was able to return it with no problem, however.
