The pond block works. I have used it 3 years in a row now. I had all the lily pads on my pond sprayed with an aquatic herbicide this year. They all died and sank to the bottom. The water was a blackish color afterwards. I threw the pond block in the middle of the pond. Within 2 weeks, the water started clearing up. Very pleased.
I have been using this product for several years for my ponds and works great.
I broke this into 4-pieces, and threw them out equally across my 1/4 acre pond. In two weeks I've notice the water is much clearer, enough to see the objects like rocks or branches, that I hadn't seen prior. This is an early evaluation, but so far it seems to be working.
I put this product about 30 feet in front of our dock and saw results with 4 days. Now about 45 days later the muck that was once over my foot, now is a nice sandy bottom that is firm. I have relocated it several times as the area that it was placed cleans up. I plan to use this every summer going forward. I do have a question about this product, does it completely dissolve, and do I have to dispose of what remains?
I switched to using this bacteria block (which has more of a a solid gel-like consistency) when the previous block used (a hard, compressed dry block) was dissolving poorly and inconsistently. These blocks more readily dissolve. In fact you should probably locate them a bit farther away from fountain or air diffuser currents so that they don't dissolve too fast! They help consume dead vegetation after herbicide treatments and appear to control the growth of plankton algae and cyanobacteria. I'm still evaluating, which is why I gave them a 4 rating.
I bought 2 of these blocks for my 1 acre pond with a lot of sludge, seems to be working great, I can see the brown dead leftovers floating to the top, I will be buying more. PS kill as much algae and weeds you can,it makes it work better, good luck.
I purchased this product because it has good reviews. The price was good compared to other stores. I am hoping that this will keep the muck down in the pond.
seems to work good
Bought product 4 days ago. Killed all my large grass carp (15-20#). Customer service total denial of product. Will NEVER us again!!
After 3 weeks there is no sign what so ever that this product has even begun to work. Our pond is well under 5 acres, more like 1/4th of an acre and very shallow. Deepest part is about 6'. I used all of the product in hopes that it would get me started. This has been a very expensive experiment. I recommend doing better research then I did unless you enjoy throwing your money away. I would like to hear from the manufacturer and how they support their product.
