Honestly these might actually taste BETTER than the original ones somehow. They don't have that signature protein taste or texture that turns so many off. However, just keep in mind, it's not really that much "healthier" per say, just more "balanced". It's the exact same 400 calories and as the saying goes, calories in calories out, this isn't really suitable for dieting, it's still basically a dessert. For that, you are better off going with something with better protein to calorie ratio like the Legendary ones but those while okay taste nothing like Pop-Tarts, if anything they are more a snack cake. These have like ~0.025 grams of protein per calorie while the Legendary ones have like ~0.111 grams per calorie (180 calories with 20 grams). Still, if you are itching for a Pop-Tart, every bit of extra protein and slightly less fat and carbs does add up so it's still better than the normal ones. Just know it's not gonna replace having an actual protein bar or shake.
These are great. They have the familiar Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavor of the original Pop-Tarts, but they are not quite as rich, which I actually prefer. There seems to be a little less filling and icing, and that works really well for me. The balance feels better and not overly sweet. I tried these mainly for the extra protein, and I am glad I did. The 10g of protein makes them feel more satisfying without changing the overall experience in a bad way. I ate them at room temperature and enjoyed them that way with no issues. If you like the classic flavor but want something slightly lighter and more filling, these are definitely worth trying.
These are perfect! I love easy, grab and go breakfasts but it is so hard to find ones that have enough protein in them. I’m always on the lookout for “protein” versions of foods like cinnamon rolls, donuts, pop tarts, etc. but they all taste disgusting. These are great though! They aren’t exactly like the original pop tarts but I likely wouldn’t have any idea that they were slightly different if someone didn’t tell me. They are high protein, easy to grab and go and taste delicious.
I have lost around 80 lbs and haven't eaten a Pop-Tart in a minute so when I saw these with protein I was so excited! They are great especially warm with a tad of peanut butter. 😊
these are SO good. you can’t even tell they have extra protein like some of the other protein snacks by other brands. the only downside to it is it’s really high in calories. but, that’s expected with a poptart lol. other than that 10/10!
pretty good! better than the regular ones. little less soft than a standard pop tart, so they hold up better in the package, but are also a bit more tough/chewy around the edges. decent amount of filling/icing. mildly more filling as well. would definitely recommend over the standard version if you've got kids in school who won't eat a real meal in the morning. could be cheaper though, docking a star for that.
These aren't terrible, but the flavor is not as good as the original. This "protein" version has 2.5 more grams of protein per pastry. Not worth it for a worse flavor and a higher price. Just enjoy your Pop-Tart and eat something else that is actually high in protein.
It doesn’t taste like original brown sugar pop tarts which is my sons literal favorite. I assumed that it would taste the same just only have added protein but it tasted awful like bland but with a aftertaste that just wasn’t appealing and kids refused to eat them so I have a 90% full box going to waste along with the money spent
Very disappointed. It was so sweet all I could taste was sugar, no cinnamon flavor. Not even close to the original cinnamon pop tarts and you could feel the grainy sugar in the bite. That was before I toasted one. I often eat them untoasted. When I toasted one it made a mess of my toaster. All the sugar just melted out through the frosting and dripped into my toaster and left a burned smell in my house. Now I have to clean it all out of my toaster, so it doesn't burn up. I expected it to taste less sweet with the additional protein. Tastes more sweet and is gross.
These were the worst tasting pop tarts I have ever eaten. I have eaten the ones without the extra protein and they were very good! These tasted like burnt sugar. I couldn't taste any cinnamon. I will not be buying these again!!!
