Portable Wireless Speaker

I was very happy with the purchase at first - sleek and lightweight and it easily synched with my iPhone. It had great sound quality. I returned it because it is apparently only 2 watts and I needed more power for a backyard party. If the spec indicated only 2 watts, I don't know how I missed that fact in my research.

I paid $39.99 for this, which appears to be quite a bit less than the $62 it is currently listed online for, but even so, I will be taking it back. It just isn't loud enough. It is loud enough for one room as long as you don't like music that loud but as soon as I walk down the hall into the kitchen I can't hear it well enough to even know what song is playing. I thought the portable feature would be nice as I am a firefighter and travel quite a bit, but I don't think I will be testing that feature out. Probably one of the louder portable, battery powered units, but I am using it in my bedroom and bathroom so I need something that I will be able to hear through an open door and over the shower. I also didn't exactly like the iPod holder. It is too big of a space so you can't just set it in and touch the iPod to control it, you have to pull it out of the hole or stuff something in the hole (like I did with a sock) so that the iPod doesn't disappear into the crevasse. Also, just to be clear about the "charging" and "connect" features of this unit: You will need to purchase or have already a separate USB charging cable to plug into the USB port if you wish to charge your device on this unit. The audio connection feature is via a 3.5mm plug (headphone plug), not the USB connection, which is power only.
