Purchased about a month ago. Charges fast with long lasting battery use. I have to cut and drill (impact) a lot of screws putting up a fence. I was looking forward to using the circular saw, but my son STOLE my charger, battery and reciprocating saw. I am going to donate the other tools that came in the package and purchase another set.
A lot of folks complain about a red flash and assume the charger is bad or the batteries went bad, neither is true possibly until you try this. When the battery goes below a certain threshold, the charger will not recognize the battery and flash. Connect the battery + and - to another known good battery + and - (+ to + and - to -) . Let them sit for a couple minutes connected to each other, you can even use other branded lithium batteries if you must. Now try it and it will work.
I have had to buy 2 chargers in the last 2 months they just died. I have used Porter Cable tools for years and have never had any problems with them I really like them but the chargers suck I think I should be given a replacement.
These are basically one time use chargers. I have went through 3 of these pieces of junk in a year. The only lights that ever come on is the red ones. Brand new batteries and still only the red lights come on. Dont buy this JUNK. Spend your money on Dewalt or Milwaukee.
Charger wasn't used much. Now it starts with a blinking green light but after a while it starts flashing red. Batteries are good, they charge fine with the other charger. This was is crap.
worked great from May until end of July now just flashed red with or without a battery on it.. piece of garbage... sad because I use my tools EVERY SINGLE DAY since covid started now im stuck with half finished projects to stare at thanks pc!
Chargers can be very fast or very slow. Product description should specify how many hours / minutes it takes to charge each battery type, otherwise it's useless.
Charger knows when the warranty is up...died shortly there after
I used this product very little it does not charge.
