I bought this Porter Cable 8 piece combo set for my husband for Christmas, he has been wanting one since last Christmas…but the price was outrageous, also he wanted the 8 piece, not the 6 piece…he is extremely happy with the 8 piece Porter Cable combo

Previously I had just had a circular saw and a drill for various household repairs, having this set has come at a perfect time when I needed to do more than I could with the tools I had. The jig saw and sander came in super handy for a wood working project I'm working on this week. I haven't used a jigsaw previously to using this one, but I found it easy to use and the safety is well placed. I had never seen a flashlight like this, I wish I had one of these ages ago. Being able to rotate the light is super handy I could have used that a while ago when working alone with no one to hold the light. This is probably my favorite extra bit in the kit. Though for a small flashlight it could have done without needing a big battery, but it does last ages due to it. This bundle came with two batteries, which is great so you can have one charging at all times, though they are different sizes. I worry I might bend the cable too much on the charger and it break eventually. The carrying bag is plain and simple, a boxy duffel with no pockets or separation, to keep things from bumping into each other in the bag. Its a good start though as I don't have anything else to keep them in besides the box it came in. So I'd look into getting a better one. Besides that, I'm really happy with this kit.

This is a great big set of power tools that seems to be working great. So far I've used the drills and the sanders and they have worked great. They came with their screw bits and sanding paper so it was easy to try out and get started. They are reasonably weighted for power tools. Easy to hold. The bag they came with doesn't quite fit all the tools in it. I will have to find another something to hold all these tools. The charger could be better. It takes a very long time to charge. It is very little compared to other brands of rechargeable tools. It came with 2 different sized batteries. Charging was too long for both. If the charger was better, this would be an excellent set of tools. I look forward to the many projects that I will need this tool set for. There is enough tools that many people could help out all together. Family time could take on a new meaning.

I received the Porter Cable 20V Max Li-ON 8 Piece Tool Combo Kit to try out. I love cordless tools, but sometimes the power is just lacking. Not here! I have not had the opportunity to test all the tools on actual projects yet, but the ones I have performed very well. These have the quality I have come to rely on from Porter Cable. I really needed a new jig saw, and being cordless with no cord getting tangled as you work is the ultimate. I have shorter arms so reaching across a 1/4 inch 4x8 sheet of cedar was much easier. The light is serviceable- I'm sure you have a better work light but it is convenient in odd places where power is not available--like the attic. The palm sander is a nice size, I sanded down a dresser to paint it and did not run out of charge. And the dust collection is nice, but not perfect. The circular saw is a nice size and can cut trough anything I have occasion to cut. The reciprocating saw will be nice to have in and upcoming bathroom remodel I am going to tackle. It comes with a nice heavy duty tool bag, but I prefer to keep them out lined up on a shelf for easy access. The tool bag does not really support the weight of all the tools, so they fall to the center on top of each other. As I said I have not had a chance to try all the tools, but expect to be just as impressed as I have been so far--I even went out and bought the brad nailer and an additional battery to add to the set.

I love the porter cable combo set, with just a couple of exceptions. The circular saw doesn't have a very good guide on it, and the bag is half the size of what you need to actually store all of these tools. I was also a little disappointed that it came with a small battery. Two large ones would have been better.

This set of tools is better than I thought that it would be. All of the tools are heavier than other tools like this I have tried. The tools set seems to be made of a higher quality than I was expecting. But I should have know that they would be, Porter Cable is a good brand. Each of the tools are quite nice. They all seem to be made well. They all function as they are suppose to. And do their jobs wonderfully. The impact driver can get quite loud when it is doing the impact aspect. But it sure does put in screws really good. Because of this, make sure that you are using a really good screwdriver tip. Not the one that comes with it. It stripped out the head of several screws and messed up the screwdriver tips because of how powerful it is. When you use the right tips and screws the impact just puts them in like it is nothing. The saws all cut very well. And are easy to handle. Each saw only comes with one blade for it. The sander and multi tool worked quite well also. The flashlight has 8 different adjustments for the position that it can set at. It seems bright enough. And the two different batteries is nice. Having a small one and a large one makes it better when doing different jobs. The only complaint I have is the bag that comes with it. I don't know if this is suppose to be a storage bag for all the tools. Or a bag to carry a few tools needed for a job. Either way it is not that great. The bag is 16" long, 10" wide, and 13" tall. The bottom of the bag is not hard. It has a thin cardboard piece as the bottom. Do not think that it would support the weight of all the tools at once. Plus I do not think that all the tools would fit in the bag at one time.

I liked the fact that there was a good variety of tools,i didn't like the batteries for them

This is a good value if you are looking to do some light home projects. The saws are for small, light-duty jobs. The bag barely holds all of the tools, and the zipper broke right away. The circular saw burned up on the second use. The drill has been great! The impact wrench and light have been pretty useful. I haven't tried the other tools in the kit yet, but I will be careful with them and buy some other tools suitable for larger projects.

Disappointed that it came with 2 different size batteries. Even more disappointed when the smaller battery didn't work. Looking for replacement battery is difficult as the good battery is from 2021 PCC885L. Newer batteries don't say they're compatible with this battery model so I'm hesitant to order.

The Skil saw was broken tried to return it. They said no.
