Perfect for regular garage/household uses. Size is ideal if you don't want to take up a lot of room in your garage. The only negative, for its size it makes as much noise as the bigger compressors.

Home use for tire maintenance

Its ok but the hose heats up a lot. Is that normal?

I've had this compressor for about 4 yrs. It worked well enough for about 3 yrs. The first item to go bad was the pop off safety valve. The next thing to fail was the female hose coupler that began to 'stick' open and leak air. The latest problem is now the pressure shut off valve that is supposed to stop the pump motor when the 150 psi limit is reached. (very dangerous issue) In order to use the unit I now have to manually switch off the pump motor or it keeps running and over pressurizes the tank (no idea how far it will increase and don't want to find out).

I bought this about a year ago and the pump has always had a problem shutting off when it reaches 150 PSI. It just keeps running. To make matters worse, the link for the owners manual on the Porter Cable website does not work, there is no owners manual at the location linked on Porter Cable's website.
