Awesome heat gun, really packs a punch with work

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the quality of this heat gun. It has a nice heavy duty electric cord and it is nice and flexible. Also plenty long enough to be able to get any place its needed being six feet long. I Use it mainly for shrink tubing on electrical wires. I am a Amateur Radio Operator and do a lot of antenna building I am always using shrink tubing on coax and connectors and this is a high quality tool I am happy to have. I see in the manual that one of the main uses for this heat gun is removing pain. I have not tried this yet but will in the future It has a variable temperature dial on the side and this makes it much more versatile than most heat guns. It has big red dial and is easily adjustable for most applications This is an important feature because it is a 1500 Watt gun that gets very hot. I see in the manual it says the temp range is 120 degrees to 900 deg. so caution should be used with this tool. Another nice feature is its has a two speed fan so you can control how much heat you put on your project. This heat gun comes with a manual to describe how to use it and cautions to be aware of.. It has a polarized plug also and it is designed for use with 120 volts AC Porter Cable has always been a good brand so I am looking forward to many years of use

I have an old heat gun, and it works fine for me but this one is a whole different world for HEAT GUNS. I love it, fast start, and easy to handle, controls are great and it's HOT. SO BE CAREFUL.. DO NOT LET CHILDREN EVEN IN THE SAME ROOM when it's in use. Use it with great care. Do not let children play with it under any conditions. If you want value and a great price go to WAL-MART and pick up one. YOU will not be disappointed. C.S.M.

This is the first heat gun I've owned, have used hair dryers before when I needed to apply heat to a surface but hair dryers aren't designed to focus heat like this Porter Cable heat gun does. I used it right away to remove some ugly automotive safety stickers from the visors of our car that we've owned for three years, good riddance to them. This is a handy tool to have for forming plastic and applying shrink wrap to waterproof wiring connectors, also for paint, wallpaper and tile removal. The gun has a two position switch for fan speed and a variable selector for temperature control. It will get quite hot on the high setting. There are no quality flaws that I found, as it appears well manufactured. I see no reason not to rate it five stars.

I live in the north country where it gets cold in the winter. This is a great little tool to thaw frozen pipes on those cold mornings. It is safer than a torch with an open flame, I have seen homes burn down because someone used a torch to thaw a pipe. With the variable temperature control you can also do jobs like bending PVC pipe or peeling paint. You can also use it to install storm window film when you need to shrink it down. The tool is light weight, comfortable in your hand, and it also has a trigger lock to keep it running hands free. I find it is a handy addition to my home repair tool kit.

This is an Xmas gift for a friend so it hasn't been out of the box yet. I don't mind giving a review but it would be better to do it after Xmas and the product is been used for the first time. All I can say now is it came well packaged and the Porter Cable is a very well known quality brand.

i bought 2 of these with the extended 2 year warranty and one of them broke within 4 weeks and walmart wont honor a return even with an extended warranty.

heat gun was listed for 39.99 when ordered. hours later the order was cancelled and the price went up to 59.99. hurry only 7 left. I don't think so. 🤔
