PORTER CABLE PC60THP 6-Amp Hand Planer

My husband has been working on a bar outside and other smaller projects and this tool has really come in handy. He's been able to make the boards really smooth and even. It's perfect for small areas. He loves this tool, it has really made his projects a lot easier and faster.

This tool is wonderful. It is very lightweight which makes it easy to use. It has a dust extractor which makes it less messy. You can change the depth of the cut up to 5/64 inch. I would definitely recommend this product. My door is now perfect!!!!

The Porter Cable 6-Amp Hand Planer is very powerful, makes fast clean cuts and is easy to work with. The 6-amp motor gives the versatility and efficiency needed for various projects. The tool is lightweight, around 6 lbs, which helps aid in the ease of use. It can be locked on and minimizes fatigue on bigger projects. The planer has dual side dust extraction so you can put the dust bag on either side giving you even more versatility. The dual blade is great also. When one side dulls out you can unbolt and flip the blade over to use the other side. It comes with a kickstand to keep the blade off the work surface. The chamfers on the shoe allow the planer to travel smoothly down the edges of material. The depth knob provides 10 positive steps allowing for multiple depth control settings so you can easily adjust the depth as you are working down the material. The only complaints I have with this planer is that the front of the shoe is not securely mounted and slightly shifts. It also did not come with the kit bag as marked on the product description. Overall this is a powerful planer that is easy to use and will give a smooth finish to any project that you are working on.

This is a very handy tool, it has 2 sided dust bag which works well if you're left handed or your job entails for you to sand down your wood at a certain angle. depth variable from 0 to .5/64 in. Level on top of the planer rotates to adjust to your desired cutting depth. Sands nicely, but bag fills fairly fast depending on what type of job you're doing so look out for that. Please remember to read all instructions carefully and keep away from small children. Would make for a great gift for family or friends who you know to be into handy work. Would recommend!

You can't beat it for the money . The only problem is the safety guide doesn't have a lever to hold blade open for starting cut .

The plastic zipper on the dust bag broke the first time I used the planer. I had emptied the bag perhaps a dozen times. I then noticed the zipper was no longer zipping. Perhaps a metal zipper would be more durable. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the quality of the planing and the ease of use.

I bought this tool 5 years ago but didn't have time to use it until I retired last year. The planer is great and does a great job. My issue is that the collection bag plugs up the chip port before the bag is full. When this happens it shoots chips all over the work shop. I'm going to adapt the discharge to my shop vac. Otherwise it's a great tool.

I have an old 1845 home. I am always having door closing issues, so I bought this to adjust my doors to fit better. My big complaint would be; the height adjuster seems to turn too easily when being used as handle to support the planer. Also, the blades seem more like HSS than carbide. I hit a small screw head and have to turn the blades over. In connection with this, I cannot seem to find a part number for replacement blades. Over all I am very satisfied with this product. It does everything that I want it to do. I also own several 18V battery powered Porter Cable tools. A reciprocal saw, 1/4" impact driver, 1/2" drill, and PCC581B 18-Volt Infrared Thermometer. I do have a 20V impact wrench as well. The only other problem I have is with the 61/2" Battery powered circular saw. It hates to cut a straight line and the battery life is worse than terrible.

My wife brought this for me and we have used it several times, it is a great tool and has cut our work down a lot. We have plane Oak and Red Cedar so far and allowed us to make the planks for shelving that we wanted, she is also very please cause it is light enough for her to handle also.
