This grinder is easy to handle. This grinder feels more ergonomically correct when handling it and makes it more comfortable to handle. This grinder has a third position which makes it easier to use. I used this grinder to smooth out some posts on a metal fence. I also used this to help granite counter tops fit in my kitchen. After using this grinder for an hour it does not over heat. The spindle does not wobble when I used this grinder. This grinder does not seem super noisy but I still wear ear plugs. This grinder feels heavy duty and works great on jobs in my home. This grinder does an outstanding job for different jobs around the house. I really like this grinder is made in America.
Easy to use, comfortable to handle, efficient tool. The manual is very simple and easy to follow, with lots of figs. And at the beginning there are many safety warnings as all manuals for power tools. I just skipped them and go directly to functional description at page 7. (Not recommending to anyone not familiar with power tools and angle grinder). I do wear face mask and protective gloves when I am using it. The 4.5 inch is a very popular size for angle grinders, so you can easily find disks for your task. This Porter angle grinder is not heavy and well balanced; I can work with it all day long without any uncomfortable feeling from my arm and wrists. There are three positions for the side handle; the top position is not often being seen among 4.5 inch angle grinder; but very useful. It is small but yet powerful. I tried it to smooth an uneven solder points on an old steel pipe and remove rusts on it. Not hard at all, just with little efforts, it does its job. The noisy level is very reasonable, when I am using it in the basement, no one complaining about noises on first floor, even when they are watching TV. By the way, I lived in an old house, and the wood floor is not really sound approval. I used lots of Porter Cable power tools, none of them gave my headaches, and the reliability is well above average in my experiences.
As far as cheap small corded angle grinders go, this Porter Cable PC750AG Angle Grinder - Cutoff tool is probably one of the best options. It's cheap enough that you won't really care if something were to happen to it or if it breaks down. This tool itself is pretty good value for the money. It is 7.5 AMPs which is very comparable to other products in the same category from big brands like Dewalt and Makita. That gives it plenty of power. As far as build quality, it isn't the best, but it's also not horrible. It feels somewhat sturdy and solid, although the more you use it, the more you can feel it rattle and shake. Out of the box, this angle grinder comes with the grinding wheel, so if you want to cut stuff instead, you'll need to buy a diamond blade or similar. When you're using the tool, the side handle can be positioned in 3 different positions, which comes in handy depending on which angle you are cutting or grinding from. The trigger is a two-finger trigger with lock-on which makes the tool a bit safer so it doesn't go off by itself or when you're putting it down on the floor. I don't expect this angle grinder to last me a long time, however, for the price, it's hard to beat.
I got the grinder to cut patio block. Works great. Powerful, for the average DIY'er. Hand grip is needed to help give an accurate cut. It gets hot after use as normal so becareful not to hurt yourself. Definetly need protective goggles necause of dust and some debris. I tried it on a rusty nail and it did the job like cutting through butter. Odd best feature for me...Im left handed and I can reverse the handle.
I received the PORTER CABLE 7.5-Amp 4.5-Inch Angle Grinder (model - Pc750Ag) for free through the Walmart Spark Review Program. First of all let me say that I have no mechanical skills. I leave that field up to my husband of 30 years. He is a diesel mechanic and a jack of all trades. My husband loves that this PORTER CABLE Small Angle Grinder has a cast-metal gearbox and 7.5 Amp motor that delivers up to 10,000 RPM. He said the item is weighted nicely (does not feel cheap) and well balanced in his hands. He also loves that this grinder features a three-position side handle that allows for different cutting/grinding positions because he does a lot of welding and fabrication. The jobs he uses this PORTER CABLE Small Angle Grinder for range from grinding rust off cars and trucks to cleaning rough edges off metal that's been cut, to smoothing welded areas and grinding down flat cut off bolts and screws that stripped and broken. This item is also backed by a Porter Cable 3 Year Limited Warranty and a 90 Day Money Back Guarantee. My husband loves this grinder and gives it his highest rating.
I have used this Porter Cable angle grinder for 2 weeks now, on lapses of 15-30 minutes. I made some work repairs at home, on the floors and house construction. it works well on metal aluminum and cement. It is a practical tool, a bit heavy and bulky, but easy to handle. The side handle keeps it secure in your hand and the lock trigger system is convenient. It is a bit noisy, but powerful, it does the job as well as other top brands in the market. The grinder disk is sturdy and quite secure at its base. The locking disk system makes it easy to remove and instal. The different insertion sites of the plastic handle makes it useful and practical for right or left handed individuals. Depending on price, I would definitively buy it.
for the listed price of around $40 it's got some bit to the grinder. Being mid winter I haven't had a scance to put the grinter to work much. But I did grind my lawn mower blades and cleaned my smooker rack. It worked great. Please not this is a spark review.
This review is for the PORTER CABLE PC750AG 7.5-Amp 4.5-Inch Angle Grinder. This grinder gave me a problem right away. I liked that it has a lock on button but the first time I engaged it the trigger would not disengage. I had to disassemble the handle, remove the trigger and work on the insides with a file. After reassembly the grinder works correctly now, this should not be necessary on a brand new tool. I think quality control should be improved. The PORTER CABLE PC750AG has good power as well as torque and it has three hole positions for the handle where my other grinders only have two. Not having that other handle position option would not be a deal breaker but it is handy when you need it. This grinder is longer than other 4.5 inch angle grinders by about three inches making it 15.5 inches causing it to not fit in as tight of places but the longer handle along with the placement of the trigger helps with overall control when not in confined places. Many other angle grinders have a simple spring latch that holds the guard in place, the safety guard on the PORTER CABLE PC750AG is screwed in place. I have not yet determined if that is a benefit or hindrance. The gear case is metal so it should last at least as long as any other in the same price range. I have not used a wire wheel with this grinder however I do not anticipate any negative results as the tool has plenty of torque needed for that task. I have several Porter Cable cordless tools that are used frequently with no complaints. This is my first corded Porter Cable tool and so far it has performed well.
Well it seems to be well made, heavy duty feel to it. The guard on it may not be the very best for this. It seems to have plenty of revolutions per minute. But time will tell how it will hold up. Can't complain to much it's free. Thanks
This works great. My husband uses more then I do. It has a lot of power for the job. Easy to handle. Easy to change the blades. Pretty light weight would make a great gift.
