great chainsaw

HOSSER January 13, 2014

Ordered on line, which was easy. Received delivery sooner than expected, which was very nice as it came on spouses birthday. He really likes it a lot, using it every day, as we have a lot of trees to clear out in order to run fence around 12 acres. We think Poulan is the best and the size is perfect.

Poulan Saw

edwardsissorhands June 13, 2015

I have had many other saw brand over the years, The best I had was a Poulan 3400 (56 cc) which I had purchased 33 years ago from a catalog at a great price then. I have had great luck with that saw over the years(used hard), went thru numerous chains and bars, a few spark plugs and one cord change, that's it...Plus it still runs, but consumes a lot of gas and is slowly loosing power. That is why I purchased another, Poulan kind of went down hill over the past years with cheapening their saws, but this is the pro line (owned by Husky) made in the USA. The new 50cc saw runs fantastic has great power and cuts every bit as good as the top brands ex: Stihl, Husky etc. for ALOT less. In most cases less than half. Have cut a little over 4 cords with it so far, Poulan chisel chains, I think are far superior too Oregon chains, but most local replacements are Oregon, so will try to acquire some Poulan chains in the future. Starting procedure is a little different than previous saws, but if you follow the factory instructions to a tee, you shouldn't have any problems. All in all great Farm saw, But hey if you have to keep up with your buddy next door, pay @$400.00 and get a comparable Stihl/Husky ("Cause that's what the Pros use." and they advertise a lot....)

Cuts like a hot knife through butter

Ninetygrainer April 19, 2014

The chain was everything I wanted and a bit more. The 20" bar will handle any jobs around my home and clean up a lot of overgrown areas I wanted to cut back and reclaim. Just surprised they didn't include a bottle of bar/chain oil to get you up and running. It works great and starts easily. I highly recommend it to anyone. The Poulan name is great.

Poulan Pro

LakeLimestone February 12, 2017

The Poulan Pro I am replacing with this new one cut over 50 trees since 2010 so I am confident this one will last me many more years. We had a severe drought in 2011 and had in excess of 30 trees we had to cut down at the lake house between me and 3-4 neighbors.

It worked well for takeing trees down in the yard.

TreelessinOhio September 11, 2014

Starting is a pain, you have to prime it, yank on it with the choke on full till it sounds like it will start then go to half choke and yank some more. Once running it works well, I cut through maple trees up to nineteen inches in diameter with little effort.

Not good so far

Stewart January 23, 2017

I got around to cranking it today. Was hard to start. After getting it running and letting it warm up several minutes, I tried to speed it up. It would always choke down and shut off. After restarting 10 or 15 times, I was too tired to keep pulling. I think the carburetor (?) needs to be adjusted. I used to do that myself, but now a days nothing I have in my tools will fit the adjustment screws. I guess it will have to go to the shop. I haven't even cut a log yet!

Not satisfied at this time.

Satchcarp October 8, 2014

I purchased this chain saw online. Once I received it I prepared to use it. It started up and smoked really bad. I thought it was due to it being new. It kept stalling. Then it idled high. I finally cut a branch off it stalled again. I called the Poulan Dealer direct. They advised me that the Carb needed to be adjusted. It's at the poulan authorized service dealer now. I hope that will solve the problem. If not it's going back.

Awful

Critter July 3, 2016

I have had this saw for 2 years. Would not run when I got it. I took to the local repair center they kept it for 6 months, after I got back it started 1 time it back to the shop just got back still does not run above idle. The man a the repair center recommend I buy and Eco said he never see those come in for repair.

Awful

Unhappy June 4, 2016

Ive had this chainsaw for about 2 years now. I have had nothing but trouble with this chainsaw since i first used it. Ive used it 3 times for fallen trees in my yard for the passed 2 years. Works a few hours then it wont stay running. New spark plugs. Had carbeaurator cleaned and no matter what after a few hours use it does the same thing. Wont stay running. Once i can afford a new chainsaw it deffinitally wont be a poulan. Word to the wise. Dont waste your money on these products. They are awful
