The saw arrived several days earlier than expected. This is my third Poulan Pro. I like the easy pull start. The side access for chain tension is more convenient than prior models. Inclusion of 50:1 oil was helpful as my older models were 40:1. Also appreciated the inclusion of an extra chain.
I trimmed a pretty large tree at home and it worked great. The only issue I have with the saw is it doesn't always stay on while idling but that is probably an adjustment I can make myself. This saw is not as heavy as other brands of this size and the vibration is manageable. It comes with a case and an extra chain. I would recommend this chainsaw to other homeowners.
I have had three 18in poulan chain saws. I bought my first one when I was about 40, I am now 72. Everyone ran and worked just fine, I just wore them out.
Severely disappointed with purchase. My previous saw was the same brand and model and it easily cut through anything I used it on. This one will stall, and actually cut off once I get into the meat of a log. It obviously was a used item also because the chain was worn down. The first cut I made with it wouldn't cut even 1/2 inch into the wood. Once I put a new chain on it, it cuts okay, but still stalls out. My old one would cut wood like butter. This one, not so much.
The chain saw is prone to losing its adjustment to tighten the chain. When this occurs, the chain will derail and is time consuming to fix. Very troublesome and the downtime takes much effort to fix the chain.
Bought on black Friday. Unfortunately I did not start it up right away. Went to use it at the ranch about a month later and it would not start. After messing with the carb it fired but would not stay running. Even though it was a good black Friday price, I should have spent the money and bought a Stihl or Husquvarna. Save yourself the headache.
Bought this saw because the specs said it was 9.2 HP! I finally took possession of this hog and seeing as how I have a saw that's got 4.8 hp and has a 25” bar, I was expecting to really lay into this one because it has just an 18” bar. What a letdown! I finally got it started and it just really didn't like to be buried. I don't like being lied to about a 9.2 hp saw!!!!
Had 2 of these saws not working correctly right out of the box. Not worth the cardboard they're shipped in. Save your time and money. Buy Stihl.
Having big problems starting.
Just say no. Just say no.
