Power Acoustik BUC-2 License-Plate Mount Back-Up Camera

Very nice camera for the price. Can be rotated by the lens to adjust horizontal or vertical alignment. Mounts behind license plate and full license is visible.

I recently purchased the Power Acoustik BUC-2 license plate mounted backup camera. The image quality is good, although you can definitely tell it is a more budget-friendly, aftermarket option compared to a stock factory camera. ​Unfortunately, I really do not like that the guidelines are completely stationary and don't move when turning the steering wheel. Furthermore, the integration isn't entirely seamless, even though I paired it with a Power Acoustik stereo. The camera does not automatically turn on when putting the vehicle in reverse. Instead, I have to manually press the "front camera" button on the screen to view the rear backup feed. I actually paid a professional mechanic to install it, so this isn't a DIY error—it's just a frustrating software or hardware compatibility quirk. I use car play, so to get the video I have to click the home button, swipe to the next page, then click Front Camera. Due to this, I often forget to even is it because it's a lot of work. It gets the job done for the price, but the static lines and the funky camera trigger leave room for improvement.
