We love EVERYTHING ExplodingKittens, and this game is nothing short of amazing! The characters are so much fun and the strategy within the game is really exciting to play.
Great game, easy to learn. My 11yo loves it and because the rounds are not long you can play quickly games or longer games doing more rounds.Only question is if you play a 5 and someone has a 10. It forces them to play their card, are they eliminated or not? As the 5 says without performing the action but 10 says if put down for any reason.....help?!
When a 3 Battle Bunny is used, if a player has the 0 Royal Robovac and the other has 10 King Cat, who is eliminated? We have an argument for either but would love an official answer.
If you don't have the money for a vacation, this is the 2nd best option to a night of family fun! Played with a group ranging in age 10 to adult. It was enjoyed by everyone. There is no need to go to the dentist now...we can see from all the smiles that our teeth are healthy!
What is an exploding kitten game if you're not laughing your butt off. I don't know because it doesn't exist. EK games has yet again released a game that has me laughing at the reactions of people due to crazy turn of events. As simple as Power Hungry Pets seems, it comes packed with tons of funny moments and replayability. Its simple but addictive loop makes me want to try over and over again until I win the next round, by playing one card at a time and trying to eliminate your friends from the round or getting the highest value possible from the cards. Some rounds may be very long while others may be too fast due to clever elimination (sometimes luck). I see what EK is saying about this game being made for people who don't like strategies. There are strategies but they are meant to be short and sweet and it doesn't have you counting dots like domino games. At the end of the day we enjoyed ourselves, laughed at funny tragedies and didn't have to spend 4 hours on it. I recommend giving it a try. You'll love it.
We liked it! We played with a 7yo, a12yo and an aged relic. It was easy to get how to play and the rounds went quickly, so the aged relic didn't fall asleep waiting for their turn. There were snakes and snails and turtles and hermit crabs but no rats (mice don't count according to the 7yo).She felt this would be easy to fix in future editions. So yeah, 5 stars all around! Please note: the 7yo won the game.
We play tested the game with a range of ages and everyone was able to understand the rules. We played three rounds and the enjoyment, and memories, are irreplaceable. We have had the privilege of play testing a few games. All were great but this is our favorite and I recommend it to anyone especially if you have a range of ages because it is easy to follow and allows even young players (maybe 6ish) to play with the family.
Takes the unique and quick gameplay of Love Letter and gives it the fun, and also unique, Exploding Kittens touch you come to expect from them. Our group ended up playing this for well over an hour without knowing how much time actually passed... needless to say we will be playing this one at game nights for quite some time.
Took us about a minute to learn and were surprised by how the rounds vary in length from a few cards to a whole deck. Super fun and already creating some contention in the room (in the best way). Plus the deck is small so it's really easy to take on the road or play over dinner at a restaurant! Another winner from Exploding Kittens¡
Another hit from Exploding Kittens. This is a very easy game to learn and play through is relatively short, but there is a deeper strategy at play. It is well balanced where you may think you are in a position of power but then suddenly, you are eliminated. Rounds are quick enough that eliminated players won't feel left out for long. My game group (ages ranged from 14 to 87) had fun playing. Highly recommend this game!
