Received it on 9/16/22. Purchase price was $699.00. Up to $200.00 cheaper than others for this time of year. It was not difficult to assemble. I saw others complain about the chute rotation. Lubricate the ratchet gear and chute base with wd 40 or teflon spray and the action will be much smoother. The machine started right up with the pull cord and an electric cord. It appears to be of decent quality. The heated handles and led light are a nice touch. I will try to give a performance update at the appropriate time.
I moved to a 4 season state in the USA in 2021. 60 year old fit male. Used a shovel to remove snow from my home’s entry and a moderate-sized sloping driveway for one season ( exhausting ) then bought this blower. Game changer. Never used a blower before. Price was right. Delivered on time with no damaged. Assembles easily even for a beginner ( I am not ). Electric start is a huge benefit. Fired right up. Quiet, and easy to control after a little practice. Light and heated handles are a plus. I am super happy with how it walks right up the slope of my driveway. Throws snow a fair distance. Used this in light-to-medium duty ( 5 inches ) circumstances - works like a champ. Remember to buy a gas can, and a cover for off-season. I trust Briggs/Stratton engines. Very happy with the price and the quality-of-manufacture. Would buy it again and will continue to recommend it to others.
Product arrived in just a few days.took about thirty minutes to assemble.on or two scratches but think i made them.after installing all parts and adding the oil to the block it started in just a few pulls.the pull start is so easy it blew my mind.
i’m very disappointed in the product that I purchased. I want to put it together to get it ready for the snowfall and it was stuck in neutral so I thought I removed the bottom plate and found the drive gear to be broken. My warranty is now expired, and now I am stuck trying to find another drive gear.
I received the 24" snowblower a few days ago, and it was in decent shape, with only a couple of small scratches that were easily touched up with fingernail polish. The plastic crankcase cover needed some Dremel sanding to allow 180 degree free rotation of the discharge shoot. My machine came with directional mounted tires, but both tires were mounted for the left hand side. Discount Tire remounted the right side tire on the rim, and that corrected the directional problem for only $8. I'm having trouble registering my purchase with the Powersmart USA website. I tried 7 times so far, over a 3 day period, and the icon just keeps spinning and never accepts it. The machine runs fine, but it is still summer here in the Midwest. I don't expect any problems when the snow hits, but we will see. Overall, the machine build is fine IMO, and might need some cable adjustments when I actually use it in the snow, we'll see. I did call several authorized Powersmart repair centers in my area, and the most important failure item was a stripped crankcase. DO NOT try to change the speed while the machine is in motion. This will damage the crankcase, and is not covered under warranty because of operator error. Read the operator manual for this warning. Always come to a full stop before changing speed lever!
There was a huge jump up on the price of the snowblower from 599 to 699.00. I bought the snowblower through wal-mart instead of Amazon because of the price but was hesitant after the price increase of so much. Also I gave specific instructions as to where to leave it, but my instructions went unnoticed . They left the snowblower on the front walk of my house of which my husband, a senior citizen, had to drag the crate down the front steps, up the city walk and down the driveway. it's no wonder he didn't have a heart attack. This is the first time I ordered a huge item from Walmart to be delivered at my house. I have always been pleased with Walmart delivery, but not this time. Next time I order a big item I will think twice of how they will deliver it.
Have to order a belt for this, simply it seems they didn’t assemble it correctly by having the belt ride the pully and it just jumped off and stretched itself out and stopped working. Not good of a product if this happens in a foot of fresh snow.
It didn't work. The drive belt would not stay on, so the auger wouldn't spin. The snow intake was all bent apparently from shipping. Returning broken and damaged item to the store was not as quick and easy as advertised.
I ordered this snow blower despite having read reviews warning of damage in shipment. The snow blower arrived with the front cowling of the snow blower bent in. Just cosmetic damage I thought, so I straightened it. After assembling the snow blower, I started it up only to have white smoke pour out of the belt housing. I had to drain the fuel, disassemble the snow blower, and repack it (using nearly an entire roll of duct tape to close up the box) for return. The return went well, and my credit card was properly credited the refund. Thinking, "accidents happen" I re-ordered the same model snow blower. When I opened the top of the box I observed the same damage to the front cowling. I "noped" right out of it and returned the second snow blower. They obviously do not use adequate packing, particularly in the corners of the box, to protect the unit during shipment. I then went to Home Depot and bought a new one, fully assembled, that was undamaged and runs great.
I have had nothing but problems with Powersmart. Did not respond to emails, when calling customer service 3 times I was on hold for at least a half hour. The reason for calling them was missing parts which of course will never get.
