Better than an axe or maul!
Reasonable for home use. Split hardwood (oak? my tree spotting is suspect) some knotty, 8” diameter, cut to 1-1/2 ft logs, seasoned one yr. Haven't tried longer, larger, or newer, but I suspect that's close to the max size. (I have some >1 ft diameter, cut to 8” that I'll season 1 yr and try that later.) More powerful gas ones are over $1K and this is $300, so pretty fair price for the utility. Best use case is the homeowner who wants to use some downed branches for a fire pit or fireplace, definitely not pro level. Pictured are the logs I've split and some results including one with a knot.
