The Pixel 7 Pro is a very nice phone, and just after purchase (12/2/24) Google extended the service support for updating the Android OS for an additional 2 years, which is very welcome news! The switch from my old phones went very smoothly on one I purchased to replace a Pixel 3; on the other it did not do as well--that phone was much older and not a Pixel product. But we got through it. The Pixel 7 Pro is almost perfect, with only a minor quibble: when I watch videos in landscape mode I like to use both hands on both sides of the phone, but with both speakers on the right side (bottom of phone) my right hand covers up the 2 speakers. That muffles the sound and with the speakers placed there, any stereo effect is basically not audible. I like that the speakers themselves can be very loud and still clear, and that when I'm on speaker phone, the person I'm on call with can hear well even if my wife and I are on the phone call at the same time. I agree with another commenter who said the newer Pixels, even the Pixel 9, don't have compelling reasons for me to have purchased a more expensive model, so no FOMO.
