My 12 week old had this dismantled and destroyed in less than an hour. Maybe not recommended for a hound dog. It was a good idea for maybe an older dog.

This has been a lifesaver! She would bark endlessly, starting an hour prior to meals. With this, she contemplates the feeder until it feeds, eats, and is happy with it. No barking! Thanks!

This has been a game changer, allowing me to give my dog her mid-day medication if I am not going to be home at that time (or fear that I might be running late). I sometimes leave her a dog treat when I am going to be gone for longer than usual. My only complaint is that it does not have an On-Off Switch so, since I don't need to use it every day, I have to remove the battery when it is not in use and then reinsert it when needed.

We have a cat with impeccable timing for notifying us when it's time to feed her breakfast. This is fine on the weekdays when we're getting up at 5:30 anyway, but became a problem on the weekends when wanting to sleep in. This very reasonably priced, simple to use feeder has been fantastic to use on the weekends to get a few more Zzz's. I also love that the inner tray is removable and very easy to clean.

This is an amazing purchase!! Now instead of waking us up at 5am our older dog just sits in the kitchen and waits for the lid to open. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

I have a cat that is notorious for yowling at our door at 3 a.m. wanting her breakfast. Though this is a "dry food" feeder, we bought it to give her her wet food. I fit a small dish into each section of the tray and split her can of food and set the timers. It works perfectly. She now sits at the feeder watching for it to open. Then I wash the dishes, reload, and can walk away knowing she'll be fed when she expects it. The one thing I will say is that the unit is completely silent. I expected it to have some kind of ticking noise, but it doesn't. It makes absolutely no noise, which had me worried it wasn't working or that my batteries were dead. The only way I knew it actually worked was by setting the timer to an hour and seeing if it actually opened, which it did.

I love this thing. I got it on sale for 12$ and I set it for 8 hours when I leave for work in the morning, and my dog knows to go eat.the whole tray comes out for easy cleaning, and the timer is just like a know you twist to a number and thats how many hours it is. I think it takes 1 AA battery

It does the job, but definitely not puppy proof. I wish they made them in stainless steel like some bowls. My puppies chewed and scratched every bit of this item! The battery also should not be as easily accessible like it is due to the fact that puppies can easily get to it, which is unsafe! Mine chewed the cover right off. At this point, I'm going to have to order a new one. Lasted a couple of months. Another thing I don't like is that unless you remove the battery, it never turns off. The timers are always running. There should be an on and off switch. Otherwise, the product is good for when my puppies need to eat while I'm at work. Puppy proof? Absolutely not. Make this is stainless steel with a removable stainless steel bowl or something puppies in general can't ruin as much!

I bought this to give my cat treats during the night so I could sleep. Works well so far. I wouldn't trust it to leave your pet alone for longer than a day. Its very light and if they flip it or move it they might not get the food out. Also there no off button so the battery is being used constantly. If it dies it won't open. But for my purpose it's perfect.
