Please be aware that you are purchasing a mini-split with an installation kit, intended for professional installation. Not a do-it-yourself set up. I thought I was purchasing a DIY. I ended up installing it myself, but I had to purchase things like bending springs for the copper tubing, leak lock, an A/C vacuum pump, 240 volt wiring, a safety switch, a circuit breaker... you get the idea. If you are comfortable doing your own wiring, making your own cement slab, handling refrigeration lines, and some light carpentry, then this is for you. Not for a novice.
It is a pre-charged system. I just vacuum tested the lines and it works very nice. Removing the old window unit was a very nice touch.
Installed today by my AC contractor. The garage/workshop was at 93 degrees when I turned it on. In less than an hour, it was 73 degrees. It is very quiet even though with my tool noise that is not an issue. Very simple install. Took my contractor less than 2 hours to have it running. Won't be running it all the time but the SEER rating should make it low-cost comfort.
I am not an HVAC installer. I am, however, somewhat handy with tools. I would recommend if you are a novice, have a knowledgeable person assist and follow instructions. I used the recommended purge can gas and followed instructions. Works well. It's been through a cooling and heating season now and I have no complaints. It meets/exceeded my expectations. Inside the unit plastic housing was warped slightly upon delivery. Detracts a little from a pristine installation.
It's what I've been looking for a long time. It's very quiet...it's wonderful.
The first mini split came to us empty of Freon. Technician charged it up and was working beautifully but all coolant leaked out and had to return the product as damaged do to a leak somewhere. Bought a second one and it's working beautifully so far. Just a pain having to have it installed then uninstalled then reinstalled!!!
Had an issue with the length of copper line and wire scent. It says it's 425 foot, but then if you read on it's only 10 foot lines, so that actually cost me. Another $220 to have this installed. Because I did not realize that up front. I called them 2 days ago. Actually want to open up the box and find out. And no return phone calls, so they will not call you back.Evidently very poor serviyes you can get Ahold of customer support on the unit, but they have nothing to do with what was sold to you. Probably would not buy from lavella again
About Product: This AC is a mere waste and the Walmart website advertised it as WIFI enabled device but in reality it doesn't and tried several ways to connect to WIFI and was not able to connect. Unfortunately with AC you can only test the item after installation and powering it and it is not like any other electronic gadget where you connect to the power and test the functionality and when it is time for me to test I have already spent bomb on the installation i.e., around $2200 as it has to be done by certified people and product cost is approximately $600, so now I am bearing a loss of $2800 without enjoying the product Walmart Experience: I have requested for full refund as I am in a situation where I cannot return the item as it is already installed and I need to call certified professional to do all the stuff, I tried to explain the same to agent but she was harsh at me. Not sure what kind of validation and verification does Walmart does for the Market item sellers and it's complete deceiving of the facts. It's a big shame on Walmart being such a prestigious company cannot honor the customers. About protection plan: Walmart advertises of cheap protection plans and when you face the actual problem the Square Trade company is of no use and they gave me a manufacturer's number which doesn't work and they are of no use and I have to cancel the protection plan.
