Premium Plus A-Frame Fir Wood Dog House - Small

I purchased 2 of these dog houses...1 for our Cocker Spaniel and the other 1 for our Shiba Inu...they absolutely love them! The houses look much better than the pictures and are so cute! My son put both the houses together in about 20 minutes.

This dog house is worth it's price. Arrived quickly, in perfect condition. It's made of sturdy cedar, even the floor (which seemed to be the biggest complaint with other dog houses). I purchased XL which is roomy for my 55 lb. Husky. I recommend measuring their dog bed and comparing dimensions. Easy to assemble, took less than 20 minutes.

Great dog house....lots of room for my dog to move around inside the house and large opening for her to get in and out.

It was extremely easy for me to put together ( 67 yr old female). It is big enough for my white German shepherd to be comfortable in, plus the floor holds his weight. The other dog house that I purchased was a large and did not work for him at all. Plus the flooring did not hold his weight although it stated it was for good for large dogs up to 100 lbs. He weighs 83 lbs and a tall, muscular boy.

This dog house went together easy. The materials are pretty sturdy. The roof is actually brown not green which was better for us. It has not leaked and we have had snow and rain.

My dog would not go in it at first. I placed it were it was his only shade. It took him about a half-hour to overcome his fear and make it his own. My dog weighs approximately 38-40 pounds and is about 15-16 inches at the shoulder. I got the medium and it fits him well. Large enough for him to stretch out but small enough to easily be warmed by his body heat in the winter.

Flooring only sits on a little lip so we had to screw in a little extra support would not hold my 100lb. pooch but with a little extra screws and a piece of wood it does its job.

After my son put it together, he showed me a crack going all the way across the Roof Ridge Cap. There was also a big chip missing in the same piece. When I called Customer Service to see if I could get a replacement part, they told me that the only option was to request a completely new dog house and just use the part I needed and return the rest or get a discount (about 20%). After running a hose on the roof to make sure no water got in, I took the discount. I wonder if the dog house I got was the result of someone putting the defective Roof Ridge Cap part back. Also the bottom slats seem pretty flimsy and wouldn't seem very comfortable due to the spaces between the slats. I would say that the design is attractive except for the crack on the top and the chip missing. Now all I have to do is get my dog to go into it, which hasn't been easy so far.

This dog house probably would be okay, but it arrived totally broken. Upon reading other reviews of this, it happens more than 90% of the time because the vendor can't be bothered with packaging it properly. It gets sent in its retail box with NO protection whatsoever. A terrible waste of money and a HUGE disappointment. Never again will I waste money on one of these.

I bought the XL and hoped it would be sturdy. It was broken. Plumstruck shipped it in just the product box, without protection as mentioned in another review. The wood was splintering and falling apart just by touching it. There is no was no way it would have held my 68 lb German Shepard. I read all the reviews (the majority of which are now missing) and thought for some reason I would be luckier than the other buyers and receive it intact. 1 review mentioned the poor shipping and advised against buying anything from Plumstruck. I am sending it back without asking for a replacement. If I have any problems receiving a refund, I will write another review. I will buy from another manufacturer and avoid Plumstruck connected to anything.
