Always fresh at Walmart and never an ammonia taste or scent(overripe). I have been enjoying this brand for decades. It's very creamy, mild, slightly sweet and versatile. I have served it as a snack with crackers, as a light lunch on a sandwich or accompanied by a salad. It's a standard item on my charcuterie board and an after dessert munchie along with fruit and bicuits. My latest combination finger sandwich is ham and brie on a Marketside mini cheddar and jalapeno croissant topped with a thin slice of red anjou pear or apple.
This may be pricy, but it's worth every penny. I used this for a SuperBowl treat with different crackers and it was a hit! There was nothing left over after the party. I highly recommend this product a it's smooth, rich in flavor and absolutely prefect!
I made cresent roll, cranberry sauce and brie bites for Christmas party. Drizzled a little bit of honey over them. Id made over 50. Only a few left. They were a hit. Our favorite brand, and new treat for get togethers.
The 16 ounce presidential brie cheese are always soft and fresh, unlike the 8 ounce presidential brie cheese, which are usually hard and stale.
this is the only brand of brie cheese that I will eat! it is creamy and smooth with a wonderful taste!
Addicted to the smell of this!
As a Frenchman I question if this is truly a brandy, has the harshness of grappa or Marc. Perhaps they can repurpose this as lighter fluid.
First of all, this Brie is amazing when fresh. The smooth taste pleasures the palate (when fresh). That being said, the last 3 Brie orders i received through pick up were bitter in taste, over ripened to the point of inedible. If the brie is soft to the touch, or has a hard rim, or is grey in color that shows through the paper wrapping, the cheese is most likely inedible and should be removed. quality control is definitely the issue
Have made in-store purchases of this Brie over the years dozens of times. Due to disability and homebound status, the last three grocery orders, whether pickup or expensive home delivery including this wheel of cheese have provided Brie that was either a few days from the "best by" date, or, like this evening's late night delivery on 06/06, the "best by" will be reached in another 43 minutes, as the calendar flips at midnight to the Brie's "best by" date of 06/07/25, as I type this scorching review. Whoever is managing inventory, whoever is hiring and training the pickup/delivery "team members", needs to be firmly, sternly, repeatedly, and without surcease, reminded to ask oneself, "Would I tale $10 out of my family's monthly food budget for this 1 lb. wheel of cheese that expires tomorrow? Would I take this home as a thoughtful gift for my mother/spouse/partner/friend, or treat for oneself?" Today is Friday. My $33 (~3 lbs) steaks expire on Sunday. Four of my eighteen cage-free eggs are broken. My cats and dogs enjoyed the crushed shell, white, and yolk detritus remaining from the haphazard packing, shipping, picking, and further handling; I did not enjoy the clingy, orangey, dried white and yolk mess I had to wash out of the broken egg splatted clear, clamshell container, however, I was not thrilled about the mess it all made in my bathtub or the heat that was added to my "fresh" eggs, despite the water flowing from the spigot only measuring in the low 60s°F. The digression from cheese to t-bones to eggs has allowed some of my rage to deflate and yet, I still have two more reviews to waste my time on, so the rage may yet become white fury. Shame for slipshod inventory control, for laissez-faire training, hiring, and cultural processes, and shame for profits before service and value. How much would you give me for a wheel of cheese that cost $10 a month ago if the "best by" date will be 06/07/25, which it will be in 11 minutes? Think fast. The mold is turning from white to brown with each passing moment, especially after being in the cart for an hour, plus a hot car trunk for delivery, plus a long walk to set on a hot stone porch, plus the wait in my 78° kitchen as I hobbled about putting my $3XX monthly food order away, and then a lengthy period at or above 40° in the refrigerator struggling to bring all of this room temperature food back down to a safer 34°F. So think quickly; you now have 5 minutes to do the math. I'm asking $10.
Because I am concerned about making sure I receive the freshest groceries, I intentionally select the Willow Grove Store. I ordered this item on April 19th, 2025. My brie had a use by April 25, 2025 date. When I opened it a couple of days after delivery, the outside of the cheese had a gray caste to it. I understand that the outside rind on brie cheese is the mold from the aging the cheese. However, I have only seen brie with a white rind. My rind was gray and did not look right. The inside of the cheese tasted like vinegar, and the texture was firmer than normal brie. The cheese had gummy texture. It made me feel nauseous. This item was delivered. If I were in the store, I would have looked at the date and not picked something so close to expiration. I have bought this item multiple times from the Willow Grove store in the past. I preferred to purchase it from this store because I can get the 1 lb size for the same price that other stores are selling the 8 oz size. This has nothing to do with the brand of brie. This is a Walmart issue. However, I have decided that I will not buy this product again from Walmart. I had to toss this, which is quite disappointing.
